Soul in the City Houston
July 17-23, 2011
Soul in the City Houston is just around the corner! Mark your calendars now for July 17 - 23, 2011 and join in the camp/mission week of a lifetime.
This week-long event is for any 7th - 12th graders who are interested in meeting new friends, serving others in the name of Christ and growing closer to God. The camp will partner with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) for worksites each day and come together in the evenings for fellowship, praise and worship, and a message.
This year's theme "REVEAL," drawn from Luke 4:18-19, will consider how Jesus revealed who He was and what His mission is all about both for the world and each individual. Organizers believe that "God is ready to reveal something incredible to each and every participant this year."
The cost is $175/person.
For questions or more information contact Kristin DePue at 281-415-1764.

Greetings!
"When the day of Pentecost had come, the disciples were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them." Acts 2:1
On June 12, we will celebrate the feast of Pentecost across theAM and around the world. May we be renewed, refreshed and empowered daily through the power of the Spirit!
Blessings,
Cynthia P. Brust Director of Communications, Chair of Winter Conference Anglican Mission in the Americas Subscribe to Currents > >

Alabama Church Aids Tornado Relief Efforts
On its terrifying 100-mile path, the Hackleburg Tornado destroyed several towns surrounding St. Andrew's Church in Madison, Alabama. Immediately, the Rev. Geoff Hatley enlisted his parish to help, and two other churches from theAM joined an ecumenical work crew in clean-up efforts and providing supplies for those in need.

A sister church relationship in Rwanda sparked the idea for Laura Waters Hinson's Academy Award-winning student documentary As We Forgive. When the film made its Rwandan debut in 2009, the spark ignited a flame to bolster efforts engaging forgiveness and reconciliation throughout the country. Today the message spreads beyond Rwanda.

Freedom in the Lord
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom as well as loving unity and the power to heal! In June 2009, Conlee Bodishbaugh stepped aside as senior pastor of Christ Anglican Church, Mobile, Alabama. Since then, he and Signa, his wife and partner in ministry, have not "retired" but rather have been "reassigned" to take the ministry of healing and reconciliation by the power of the Holy Spirit on the road.

Ride 4 Rwanda in Colorado
Twice a year, a group of people from Resurrection Anglican Fellowship in Centennial, Colorado, spends the day enjoying the outdoors and good conversation while pedaling for 12 miles together. While the bike ride provides great exercise, the goal isn't getting in shape. They are making tracks to raise money and awareness for the needs of their sister parish in Ngarama.
