Soul in the City Houston
July 17-23, 2011
Soul in the City Houston is just around the corner! Mark your calendars now for July 17 - 23, 2011 and join in the camp/mission week of a lifetime.
This week-long event is for any 7th - 12th graders who are interested in meeting new friends, serving others in the name of Christ and growing closer to God. The camp will partner with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) for worksites each day and come together in the evenings for fellowship, praise and worship and a message.
This year's theme "REVEAL," drawn from Luke 4:18-19, will consider how Jesus revealed who He was and what His mission is all about both for the world and each individual. Organizers believe that "God is ready to reveal something incredible to each and every participant this year."
The cost is $175/person.

Greetings!
In this Lenten season, many of us will give up or add something to our lives as a spiritual discipline. In church tradition, Lent has also been a time to prepare individuals for baptism, as Christians in the early church prayed and fasted in solidarity with those new to faith. Will you consider praying and fasting during Lent this year for those who do not yet know the saving love of Jesus Christ?
We would love to report on what's happening through your congregation! Send stories, photos or video links to Shelly Miller.
Blessings,
Cynthia P. Brust Director of Communications, Chair of Winter Conference Anglican Mission in the Americas Subscribe to Currents > >

Anglican Mission in America Accredited by National Financial Accountability Organization
On March 1, the Anglican Mission received accreditation from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). ECFA accreditation is based on the ECFA Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship, including financial accountability, transparency, sound board governance and ethical fund-raising.
The AM joins a growing number of Christ-centered churches and ministries across America, supported by over 35 million donors, that have earned the right to display the ECFA seal. When an organization is accredited by ECFA, it demonstrates its willingness to follow the model of biblical accountability.
"We are pleased to include in our membership a ministry committed to evangelism through church planting, fulfilling Christ's Great Commandment and Great Commission," said Dan Busby, president of ECFA.
To learn more about theAM's stewardship opportunities, visit ServantMatch, ECFA's program that matches God's servants with the stewardship options of ECFA members based on ministry sectors and categories. It is ECFA's newest online feature that allows you to quickly and easily find giving opportunities.
ECFA, founded in 1979, provides accreditation to leading Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with the ECFA Standards pertaining to financial accountability, fundraising and board governance.

New Church-Planting Model Takes Root in Pacific Northwest
How does one man plant eight churches in eight cities at the same time? Just ask the Rev. Aaron Burt, a Seattle church planter accomplishing that mission through Northwest Anglican, a non-profit organization dedicated to initiating, encouraging and coaching new Anglican plants between Seattle and Portland. Burt has a passion for bringing Anglicanism to the Pacific Northwest, the most unchurched region in the country. And he's utilizing a new, non-traditional church-planting model that's totally reliant upon God.
"When Jesus says, 'I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it,' this model takes that at face value," Burt says. "At best, all we are doing is following what He is already up to."
Learn how Burt's church-planting model works and how God is using it in the Pacific Northwest.

Bishop Todd Hunter Launches Telos Events
Bishop Todd Hunter is launching Telos -- events that focus on helping Christians practice faith-based and doable spiritual disciplines within the exiting routines of their daily lives.
"By the end of each event, we want your anxiety level to drop -- our hope is that your Telos experience feels less like a conference, and more like a retreat," Bishop Todd explains. "We don't want to add more ideas or busyness to your life. Our talks will tend to focus on deeper issues of Christian spirituality, and living with the end in mind. We know from Scripture and personal testimony that 'big moments' in life often defy explanation-moments when we can only say, 'I just felt God,' and we will seek to meet with God in prayer and ministry."
For more information visit the Telos website.
