Parishioners Help Design New Church Home

creativity

Is creativity more valuable than money? Church of the Resurrection in Wheaton, Illinois, thinks so. They've invited their artistic parish to participate in a Creativity Campaign, contributing their design ideas for the remodeling of a beautiful old warehouse where they hope their portable church will find a permanent home. At an initial meeting last week, excitement and ideas flowed fast and furious.

"People were doodling and drawing, doing renderings and sketches of concepts while we were meeting," says Trevor McMaken, Communications Manager.

Discover ideas the parishioners shared to bring the warehouse to life.

Seeing the City with the Eyes of God

in the cityImagine hearing a sermon about God's love for cities so compelling that you shared it with a friend over lunch a few days later, only to learn that your friend heard a sermon centered on the same topic at his church.  Sounds like a partnership designed to spread the message of reaching their city for Christ!

Mission Mondays Catalyze Outreach Efforts

Lord, make this church more mission-minded.  Six months ago, the Rev. Chris Zoephel began to pray for his parish, Holy Trinity Church in Meridian, Idaho, to embrace Jesus' call to make disciples.  At God's prompting, he started a monthly Monday-night prayer gathering called Mission Mondays, a time of intercession for the lost.

"The very first meeting, God's tangible presence in the room was incredible," Zoephel says.

Since Christmas, Mission Mondays have spawned a food pantry, an outreach in a bar and a fellowship of leaders in Idaho's most populous valley - but most of all, opened Holy Trinity's hearts to the lost.

Mayoral Proclamation for Rwandan Bishop

ahimana
Bishop Augustin Ahimana
Long before the Rt. Rev. Augustin Ahimana arrived from the Kivu Diocese of Rwanda to visit the people of All Saints Church, preparation of schedules, meetings and meals were underway.  What they were not prepared for was the depth of transformation the visit would bring for the church and city. A mayoral declaration proclaimed February 20 as Bishop Augustin Ahimana day for the city of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Read more about how God used a bishop from Rwanda to make a difference on American soil.
