Bishop Onesphore Rwaje Elected Archbishop in Province of Rwanda

The
House of Bishops of the Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda has
elected the Rt. Rev. Onesphore Rwaje as Archbishop to succeed the Most
Rev. Emmanuel Kolini. He currently serves as Bishop of Byumba Diocese
and Dean of the Province.

Groovin' for Rwanda: Raising Awareness and Support
The work week is winding down in the bustling town of Washington, DC. On this Friday evening, young professionals from local Anglican Mission congregations gather in the historic Eastern Market's North Hall. Their footsteps shuffle along the hardwood floor; laughter bounces off the vaulted ceilings. The group isn't gathering at such a landmark to hear a politician speak or attend a summer wedding, they are putting on their dancing shoes for Groovin' for Rwanda, a fund-raising event to support the As We Forgive Rwandan Initiative. Ticket holders learn swing and "two-step" moves - and get to help a mission team bring reconciliation.

Reaching the Nations in Their Own Back Yard

The International Student Ministry
(IMS) at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Norfolk, Virginia,
enjoys access to people right in their backyard from more than 80
nations and all 50 states on the campus of Old Dominion University
(ODU). ODU boasts one of the most diverse student bodies anywhere with
some 1400 international students attending the school, many along with
families. On Saturday, September 17, IMS hosted a cookout and dance
event with another local congregation to welcome new internationals
arriving to ODU for the upcoming academic year.

Balloons, Floats and Diapers
St. Matthews advertises their Diaper Ministry on the back of the float, making people aware of the outreach that helps those in need.  | As balloons drift skyward beyond arms reach, crowds below fill in the gaps between street lamps dotting the sidewalks of downtown Lapeer, Michigan. Visitors from miles away browse booths with handmade crafts and artwork. It's a muggy August Saturday morning, time for the annual Lapeer Days Parade. After a three-year hiatus from entering a float, the congregation of St. Matthews Church is making their presence known as a place of help for those suffering because of the severe local economic downturn.
