The "Great on State" concert series continues, Friday, July 31st at the Downtown Center located at 810 State Street.  The show begins at 7:00 PM with local favorite "The New Familiars".  Then straight from the hills of Appalachia comes the sultry swing of Christabel and the Jons.  Their music is a blend of southern blues, swing, and gypsy folk, delivered with an expressive singer-songwriter's soul and a laid back, sultry stage performance that keeps the audience intrigued.  Dressy vintage costumes and soft lighting gives the performance a torch singer, speakeasy look.
 
As always the concert is free.  Come on out for an evening of relaxation under the stars.

The "Great on State" series continues on August 14th with "Langhorne Slim" and "Holy Ghost Tent Revival" and will close with "Yo Mamas Big Fat Booty Band" and "The Asheville Horns" on September 11th.
