We're starting off March by "going green" with an Alternative Energy Vehicle Exhibition. Most people think that Alternative fuel vehicles are a new technology but the first alternative fuel vehicles started more than 100 years ago. Women Take the Wheel

Since the first automobiles began rolling off production lines over 100 years ago, women have played an important part in shaping all aspects of the automotive industry. Family Fun Weekend
March 31 & April 1

Enjoy a fun filled weekend of family activities including the showing of "Back to the Future" being shown daily at 10:30 AM and 2 PM while viewing all the original and restored cars, trucks and buses that are part of the AACA Museum Collection.
On Saturday March 31 @ 1PM, our younger guests can take part in an Easter Egg Hunt. Candy provided courtesy of The Hershey Company.
A special admission price of $5.00 per person will be offered on March 31 & April 1 (no foolin') for everyone! Sorry, no additional discounts or coupons will be accepted.
Other activities will include a Museum Scavenger Hunt and our interactive kids area with car racing, Roads to Rails Model Train Exhibit, Chuggington model railway and photo stop cars. One winner from the scavenger hunt will be randomly selected to win a Back to the Future model car along with four (4) admission passes for a return visit to the AACA Museum.

Antique Automobile Club of America
Announces 3 New National Awards!

The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) introduces three new National Awards. The Corvette Award; The Military Vehicle Award; and The Thunderbird Award.
The Corvette Award. In honor of Mel Mann; in appreciation of his dedicated service to AACA and in recognition as a collector of fine Corvettes. Presented by South Florida Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
The Military Vehicle Award; presented for an outstanding military vehicle (Junior or Senior) entered in a national meet during the year. The manufactured vehicle should be legal for highway operation and the award will be based on the maintenance, preservation and/or restoration of the vehicle. This award was established in 2012 by the United States Marine Corps Motor Transport Association, Inc.
The Thunderbird Award; presented in the name of the Earl Tindol Family, in recognition of the Ford Thunderbird and its role in automotive history. This award is given to the most outstanding Thunderbird at an AACA national meet.

PAA Competition - February 16th -- Students from Ten PA Schools competed in the 2012 Automotive Technology Competition right here at the AACA Museum! Students faced a test of advanced automotive diagnostic skills on 2012 vehicles with predetermined defects. And the winners are:
First Place: Ben Cary and Ralph Grecco Of CTC of Lackawanna County In Hazleton.
Second Place: Adam Brossman and Zack Conners Of Cumberland Perry AVTS In Mechanicsburg
Third Place: Tyler Frye and Cody Krissinger Of Lebanon County CTC In Lebanon
The first place team now advances to the 2012 National Automotive Technology Competition in New York at the International Auto Show. Congratulations to all the students who participated!

AACA Museum Wedding Show -- Love was in the air on Sunday, February 19th as the AACA Museum showcased our 3rd annual Wedding Show! Brides had the opportunity to participate in several opportunities to win big!
Our annual "cake dive" for $10,000 worth of prizes and the winner was Stephanie DeWalt!
Brides also had the chance to win a Louis Vuitton handbag containing an iPad inside via a raffle to benefit the Central PA Food Bank. Brides gained extra chances to win the handbag when donating non-perishable food items to the Central PA Food Bank.
Congratulations to Stacey Scherer who won the Louis Vuitton handbag along with the iPad that had been secretly hidden inside!
There was a total of 1,388 Pounds of food donated to the Central PA Food Bank which equates to about 1,110 meals for an individual in need. In addition, the money you collected from the 50/50 drawing, $878.00, equates to an additional 5,268 meals.

Chocolate Covered February Scavenger Hunt -- How many kisses did you find? There were a grand total of 26 Hershey's Kisses hidden throughout the Museum and we had 395 guests participate in the hunt. The randomly selected of the Scavenger Hunt along with the 5lb. Hershey's Chocolate Bar and four (4) admission passes to the AACA Museum was Garrett, age 12, from Hummelstown, Pa. Congratulations to Garrett! Our thanks to The Hershey Company for donating the 5lb. Chocolate Bar.
