Located near your heart, in the very center of your chest, your fourth chakra is the domain of human intimacy. It is essential to affection, warmth, nurturing, friendship and familiarity. Your fourth chakra is the seat of your ability to feel joy, unity, laughter and especially, love! -the very highest power in your life. It expands your capacity to be generous, sensitive, forgiving and tolerant.
With a balanced fourth chakra, the circulation of your blood is healthy and smooth, your heart rhythm is regular and your arteries are clear from blockage.
The fourth chakra is generally considered the most important energy center in your psyche, because it is from this chakra that love emanates. It is naturally associated with family, partners, friends, spiritual family members and animals. When it is balanced, you care about how you affect others. When your heart chakra is balanced, you non-judgmentally accept yourself and others. You recognize beauty-in yourself and in everyone-while overlooking weaknesses. It is because of a balanced fourth chakra that you are kind and forgiving, as well as quick to pardon. You are also tolerant, optimistic, resourceful and humorous.
If your heart chakra is off balance or shut down, you might have a tendency to run away from intimacy. You might even intentionally push otherwise loving and lovable people away from you. Without this sense of connection, you become critical, suspicious and defensive. Paranoia becomes a real possibility.
If your heart center shuts down completely, you may be inclined toward secrecy, betrayal and addictions.
By closing your heart, you continue to push people away, who in response reject you again, seemingly validating your initial etermination to seal yourself off. Again and again you pull back. Again and again you're pushed away. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Your heart becomes more closed and you become more isolated.
A heart chakra imbalanced in the opposite direction-too wide open-causes problems too. You can become too empathic, too easily picking up on the anger or depression of others. You live at the mercy of the moods and feelings of those around you. This can be psychically and physically draining.
To have this fourth chakra energy fully touch our daily life requires intent and practice. This begins within our self, for without the ability to love ourselves, we cannot truly experience love from another or give it truly to another. In loving ourselves we allow the intent to generate the feeling of unconditional love within us, and then to share this feeling with others. Whatever we send out is returned to us.
Open your heart and open to the possibilities of all that is LOVE!

The Magic Healing of Crystal Singing Bowls

Vibrational sound touches our bodies on a molecular and crystalline level. The body is a network of vibration fields and energy currents and each individual resonates at his or her own vibration. Sound is an acoustical wave, while color is an electromagnetic wave. The colors of the rainbow correspond to a specific musical note in the same way that each chakra of the body correlates with a specific tone and color.
The human body and the entire earth are made up of energy, vibrating at different frequencies. When out of rhythm, disease and disharmony results. Vibrational sound healing addresses imbalances or blockages of the energy channels.
Sound in the form of music and tones is a primary tool of the vibrational healer, and the crystal bowls (also called quartz bowls) are one of the best ways to produce sounds which can be felt throughout the body.
The notes of the crystal bowls are tuned to specific vibrational frequencies found within the human body. Thus when the sound moves through the atmosphere and touches us, it causes our cells to move in different directions at a different speed, in rhythm with the sound wave. This puts us in harmony with the sound wave, the world and ourselves. The sound penetrates into our very cells and re-balances them through oscillation and resonance.
Quartz Crystal Singing Bowl tones hold the vibration of white light, which ultimately refracts into the rainbow and acts directly on our Chakras when played. Each crystal bowl is made of 98.9% silicon quartz and our body has a natural affinity to quartz. The human body is composed of many crystalline substances - the bones, blood and DNA are crystalline in structure, as well as the liquid crystal-colloidal structure of the brain. Even on a molecular level, our cells contain silica, which balances our electromagnetic energies.
Interestingly, the first crystal bowls, frosted white in appearance, are a by-product of the computer industry, and are manufactured by a high-temperature fusion process that forms solid bowls from powdered silica sand. It seems that perfect quartz bowls are the prime growing environment for computer microchips. If you're not in the computer chip business, you're probably wondering how this wafer growing process occurs. I know I was curious when I heard about it, and I still am because I've yet to see it. But that's a subject for another article, by someone who wants to research it. My interest is in the bowls as healing sound tools. How do the bowls get from microchips to meditation circles? Well, it seems that if a bowls isn't perfect in size and thickness, it's not acceptable for growing chips. Before they started being coveted by the vibrational healing movement, rejected bowls were broken and ground back into quartz powder to be used in new bowls. However, as metaphysical healers became aware of the vibrational qualities of these bowls, they began buying the 'seconds' to use in their healing practices. A reject bowl to the computer chip industry is, well, it's absolute music to the ears and bodies of healers and their clients.
How do the bowls work in this way? Crystal bowls are, through size and thickness, naturally tuned to the individual notes of the musical scale. These notes correspondingly resonate with the individual chakras, or energy centers, of the body. The bowls also vary in diameter, most commonly from 10 inches to 24 inches, varying the pitch of the note. Even the smaller bowls can produce a tremendous vibration. The most important thing about using these bowls for healing is that whatever the size or pitch of the bowl, each one seems to open, balance, and tone all the chakras.
One bowl can be very powerful. When I play them all together, the effect is magnified exponentially, the combined sounds providing a full range of sounds that transport people on what I call a "Crystal Sound Journey". These sounds vibrate within the body and make the recipient aware of places where they're blocking energy. Old stagnant energy is freed up and released, making room for new chi, or universal energy, to flow into the body and energy field. I've found that the bowl listening process is more "direct experiencing" than it is listening. As soon as I begin playing, people usually go into a deep state of relaxation; a trance-state really. As with many kinds of sound therapy, I know the bowls elicit alpha, delta and theta waves, conducive to deep relaxation and deep healing. When I play them, rather than playing in song style or any set combination of notes, etc., I allow my movements to come through spontaneously. It's an intuitive knowing process very similar to "channeling" or doing intuitive hands-on healing work. Because of this intuitive process, each session is original. I never know which bowls or in what fashion I'm going to play. I say that "the bowls are really playing themselves". I'm just blessed to be the person holding the wands. Reiki Level II Attunement increases the amount of healing energy when
treating the self and others, and focuses on emotional and mental
healing. During this class, you will continue your Reiki training by
learning the Usui Reiki symbols. You will also learn how to send Reiki
to others who are not with you presently (Distance Reiki), learn to
send Reiki energy to heal past events, and how to send Reiki to events
in the future. The Reiki Level II Attunement opens your Reiki pathway,
allowing more Reiki to easily flow through you. Upon completion of
this course, you will be a certified Usui Reiki Level II Practitioner.
This
class is a combination of lecture, creative expression, discussion and
experience. Practice time includes providing and receiving a complete
Reiki treatment with the use of symbols and distant healing, and
discussion with homework. Includes a manual and framed certificate.

This is a great opportunity to meet and share your experiences with
other Reiki practitioners in the area, and use your Reiki! Please feel
free to invite any other Reiki Practitioners you know that are attuned
to Level I and beyond.
Due
to the need and request of Reiki for those not attuned, we will now be
opening up the Reiki Share from 4-5 pm on Reiki Share dates as a
NO-CHARGE opportunity for the community to receive Reiki from
practitioners wishing to volunteer their time! Please spread the word! Feel free to come out a receive some healing!
This
is not a requirement for those attending the shares, as the share will
be over at 4 pm, and those wishing to participate may stay. Anyone who
would like Reiki, is curious about it, or needs it, is welcome to come
to the Peace Center between 4-5 pm. Please contact us with any
questions. It is our honor and privilege to be able to share the

This
workshop is a hands-on event where each participant will create a basic
shaman medicine bag. A medicine bag is an ancient energy tool, once
used only by the spiritual leaders and healers of a community. This is
an introductory event open to everyone, for beginning or master levels.
Our medicine bag workshop brings this ancient tool into our day-to-day
life. We can use the medicine bag to draw to us the soul qualities we
seek, to guide us, strengthen us, and to even give back.
Attendance at this workshop is $45. This includes all supplies and many
ingredients for your medicine bag, many unique and fun items!
Additional items such as crystals and rare items and add-ons will be
available for purchase. You can also bring small personal items to add
to your medicine bag, or you can change or add to your medicine bag

The Art of the Pendulum

basic insight into pendulums and how to make them work for you.

will learn to determine vitamin and mineral requirements; find out what
food suits you best; tap your intuitive and psychic powers; use it in
accessment for alternative therapies - and much more. The pendulum is
so simple, yet so versatile. Come to this workshop and open a new world
of discovery. Not only is it recommended for those who have not used
the pendulum before, and would like to learn, but this workshop will

The beat of the drum is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and connects us to our own heart.
Making a drum is really a transformational journey into our hearts.
The drum is a part of native heritage from tribal cultures
all over the world. This single sided shaman drum is a traditional native drum
crafted using a wooden hoop or frame and a stretched rawhide head and lacing.
Covered on only one side, the back is laced to form the symbol of a medicine
wheel with the four cardinal directions that also serve as a hand hold. Great
for drumming circles and meditation.
In this workshop
you will be supplied everything you need to create your own frame drum and
accompanying beater. While you are making your creations Valarie and Ian will teach you the care
and feeding of your drum, as well as how to use them in healing and cleansing
ceremonies. We will sing songs and tell stories throughout the two days.
On Friday evening
we will begin with a Drum Journey to connect to the Heartbeat of the Drum, and
soak our individual hides. Saturday morning we will join together again
and start the process of creating our drums and beaters. After creating
the drum, we'll celebrate its birth with a special ceremony. Birthing a drum is
an intense process, one not easily forgotten.The drum face can later be painted
using oil or acrylic paint with your Animal Totem or designs. You can also
personalize the drum with beads and feathers to strengthen the connection with
your drum.
$145 Registration
includes all materials for a 13" diameter drum and beater. All other
materials will be provided and are included in the price of the workshop. If
you have some special beads or feathers which you'd like to decorate your drum
you may also bring them.
