James Arnold Clayton, veteran of The Blackhorse Regiment and member of the Blackhorse Association for many years, recently passed away in Port Arthur, Texas.   He served with the 11th ACR along the Czech/West German border at Regensburg from Sep 1960 until Sep 1963 in K  Troop, 3rd Squadron.  He had an infantry MOS and was a light weapons specialist, a marksman on the M-60 machine gun and a sharpshooter on the M-14 rifle.
 
He passed away on 24 October 2009 at 2335hrs at Harbour Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.  He was very proud to be a Blackhorse member and he had many good memories and stories from his days in the regiment.  He proudly wore the unit cap, recently passing it on to his son who continues to proudly wear it.
 
In the 1980's he became ill with MS and also has had several strokes.  Although he could not attend Blackhorse meetings due to his medical conditions, he kept up with the Blackhorse through newsletters and chapter meeting agendas and wished that he could have attended the Fulda Legion Reunion in Germany this past summer.
 
He family continues his military family tradition, with son James having served in the Air Force Security Police, son Steve in US Army Transportation and daughter Karen who served in the US Army Reserve.
 
He is solely missed by his family and by fellow members of the Blackhorse Regiment and Blackhorse Association.
