May 2009
Dear :

May is Military Appreciation Month.  Most of you probably don't know this, but I served in the Army for eight years; my dad retired from the US Marine Corps and all but one brother and my sister served in the military in one capacity or another.  So, A Rose of Thanks is personal as well as a growing non-profit organization.

We have a special way for you to thank a soldier during this month.   We are asking every subscriber to sponsor a rose for just $10.   One rose will will send approximately 50 cards to our military troops overseas.  What a difference that could make.  Our goal is to raise $5,000 during the month of May.  Won't you please consider sponsoring a rose today?  It's as easy as just clicking on the "Donate Now" button in this newsletter!

Another way we are asking for help this month is if a company would take on the sponsorship of printing A Rose of Thanks cards.   In exchange for this, your company name would be printed on the back of the cards.  For example:  "Printed Courtesy of (Your Company Name and Address Here)."  You can even include a tag line or website address.  Contact me directly if this is something you would be interested in!

Book & Quote of the Month

The book of the month, "Shut Up, Stop Whining and Get a Life" by Larry Winget.  This is an awesome book, an "in your face" message that is a lot of common sense.  Chapter 7 - The Enjoyment Factor - is one of the best!

Cool News:

Starting Friday, May 15 and continuing through Monday, May 25, 2009, A Rose of Thanks will be at the Carolina Mall in Concord, NC.  This is our annual Wall at the Mall event.  Last year we had over 1,000 cards completed and our goal is to get 1,500 this year.  Come out and visit us during regular mall hours and complete a card or two for the troops.  Also, if you're interested in volunteering to sit at the table for a few hours during the day or evening - email me at Matthew@aroseofthanks.org.   I would love to have you come out.

I'm also in the process of designing a catalog featuring all the different A Rose of Thanks cards, t-shirts and other cool stuff available for fundraisers.   If your organization is looking for a new type of fundraiser - give me a call!  We'd love to help.

A Rose of Thanks has been sending out a monthly newsletter since August 2007 with the help of Cynthia Roy, integrAssist Office Solutions.  Cindy, thank you for your dedication to this project.   Also a big thank you goes out to Michelle & Starbucks in Charlotte for helping with coffee distribution over the holidays.  And, thank you to all who have donated time, money or who have completed a card.  Come, be a part of the excitement as A Rose of Thanks continues to bloom in your community and around the world,

A Rose of Thanks is now blogging at: www.aroseofthanks.tumblr.com and twittering at: www.twitter.com/aroseofthanks.

Follow us...and watch us bloom! We are being followed by some pretty cool people and would like the coolest person we know to follow us as well....YOU!  Keeping up with us has never been easier.  Make it a great day!
