May is one month away.... Military Appreciation Month, Armed Forces Day, Mother's Day and Memorial Day.
 
This month A Rose of Thanks is looking for donations to help print the cards we are going to send out.  If there are any small business owners or individuals that would be interested in sponsoring the printing of the cards, I would print your business information on the back.  For example:

Thanking our troops for Defending the US and us!
 
We are also looking for schools and church organizations to have their students and/or members personalize a card for our troops.
 

Book of the Month

 

 
The book of the month, "The Power of Small", by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval, is actually coming out this month so visit their website at www.thepowerofsmallbook.com.  Linda and Robin are the authors of "The Power of Nice".
 
 
A Rose of Thanks, I think, is the "Power of Small".  This one small card is a gesture of kindness and gratitude that has touched over 20,000 lives in its short existence and it is the small things that help it continue to grow.  For instance, after hearing on sports talk radio that Mack Brown, football coach for the University of Texas, and four other coaches were going on the Under Armour (UA) Coaches Tour in May to visit our troops in the Gulf, I sent each of them, and three executives at UA, ten of our peach rose business cards.  Coach Brown's assistant contacted me after she got them and we then sent them 2,000 customized ones that included the UT website, the UT football website and the UT Athletic Dept. on the back of the card.
 
This small business card is possibly going make fans for the UT program that might not have been before.  One of the executives at UA even joined our Facebook group.  Two responses out of eight letters!  That is the Power of a Small gesture to thank them, for taking the time out of their busy schedules to visit our troops.
