If you do not think "Big" and act "Big", "Big" things will not happen!
This is true for A Rose of Thanks, for instance:
- Zero to the Emmys in 8.5 months (2007).
- Card from Governor Sarah Palin in less than one month.
On January 1, 2009 I made a goal to send A Rose of Thanks peach business card to each governor of the United States. The first week in January I sent out letters to the governors of Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado and California. On Monday, January 26 there was a card signed by Governor Sarah Palin thanking me for the A Rose of Thanks cards and kind words. How awesome is that! A letter from one of the most visible persons over the last year!
Since then I have sent out a letter to the remaining states' governors and am keeping my fingers crossed that more will respond back. The way I see it, if I send 50 letters to 50 governors and get only one letter back, it will be a success. The rest will still know who we are when we send them something else (which we will).
The bottom line is that whether you are a small business owner, an emerging non profit, or an actor/actress, its all about who knows you. I'm not sure who said it but it is the truth. People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. |
