Greetings!
May is Military Appreciation Month and it looks like we'll be sending out over 1000 cards this month! I have dropped off 675 cards at the Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in La Quinta, CA. for them to complete. We've picked up 45 cards from the Desert Children's Discovery Museum and 550 cards from E. Hanford Dole Elementary School in Salisbury, NC.
Last week I again witnessed the power of A Rose of Thanks and MySpace working together. A "MySpace" friend, Elaine Hendrix (The Parent Trap and What the Bleep Do We Know) hosted an event for In the Defense of Animals and The Pet Care Foundation. She asked us to put some cards in the VIP bags. The play, Because They Have No Words, was a reading of the script with one main character and five actors playing multiple roles. The cool thing about last Wednesday's performance was that they only rehearsed three times before going on stage and they were flawless!
A Rose of Thanks is finally hitting its stride after a month of getting adjusted to California. We have some exciting events coming up.
