Evelyn Brooks ifinds inspiration in her native Peru, mixing cultural elements of different Peruvian cultures with modern & trendy designs. She works with precious metals, natural gemstones and seeds from the Amazons such as Huayruro seeds, a symbol of good luck, happiness and fertility. Her latest collection Moschik is completely made with recycled silver & natural seeds. Evelyn Brooks has recently been named as Entrepreneur on the Rise 2009 by Council Magazine & has received the Outstanding Artist Achievement Award by Empowered Women International.

About A Show of Hands
Located in the center of trendy Del Ray, this unique shop features art and fine craft by local, Washington area artists. You'll find a wide selection of unique, handmade pottery, jewelry, glass, children's toys, photography, jams and jellies from local farmers, turned wood, paintings, tote bags, even poetry by local poets!
Opened in 2005 by Pat Miller, a longtime supporter of the arts and chair of Alexandria's Arts Commission, and Maria Wasowski, an artist with experience in jewelry, hand-thrown pottery, knitting and weaving, A Show of Hands is the place to find that one-of-a-kind gift. In 2008, Pat and Maria were named Retailers of the Year by the Virginia Retail Merchants Association.
