Recently Ohio Senate President Tom Niehaus gave a response to questions about the Heartbeat Bill  (Substitute House Bill 125).  Senator Niehaus did not send the letter to NE Ohio Values Voters (even though we are listed as supporters of the bill) however, we have obtained a copy and want to be clear about our position since there have been many questions about where we stand on the issue.

Our Position

We have not changed; we remain in support of the Heartbeat Bill and agree with the Ohio House (who passed the bill) that this legislation  should move forward to the Governor's desk for his signature.  

We believe that the leadership of the Ohio Right to Life is wrong.  We agree with the founder of the National Right to Life (Dr. Jack Wilke) that organizations should resign their affiliation with the Ohio Right to Life due to their lack of leadership on this critical issue.
