Greetings!

"Hi!"

Bow to the Bow. (I love Homonym's!)

I was talking to a customer this week about lyrical playing, and I tried to relate the playing ability of Craig Butterfiled.  Craig was in the shop recenlty having a Revolution Source installed on his Jim Ham bass (a nearly identical copy of Gary Karr's!) and it was inspiring to hear him play.  I found a video on YouTUbe that I think wonderfully demonstrates his abilities.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Gary adds Facebook posts all the time on our bass progress here in the shop (see the video below!), as well as our adventures in the creation of a new home for Upton Bass!  Gary is restoring a 1800's Witch Hazel mill on his property and turning it into a Post & Beam workshop.  Check it out on FaceBook - your feedback is always appreciated.

Drop us a line any time. And remember... the best is yet to come!

The NEW Upton Bass!
FaceBook
Gary grabbed his camera this week as the masons are working diligently to face the new foundation to bring it back to it's former beauty but with the structural integrity it lacked. Just like the restoration of an old bass. The mill dates back to as early as 1780!!
Bach Cello Suite No.3 Movement 1
YouTube
Rinat Ibragimov, principal double bass of the London Symphony Orchestra, performs Bach's 3rd Cello suite, which he hopes will help encourage student bass players to explore Baroque playing and Bach's music in particular.
