Greetings!
 "Hi!"
Woke up this morning to a TON of eMails! Many of you found the three basses we showcased yesterday quite interesting and Dave and I will definitely get back to those of you who made inquiries. Among the many eMails were also a bunch from Gary who, as I type this, is breathing in his native air in the United Kingdom. Gary went to the UK primarily to visit his "brother from another mother" George Martin. The similarities between George and Gary in personality and drive are amazing! Gary brought George a fantastic French bass that I had completely (and I do mean completely!) disassembled with the plan of rebuilding it. A good plan really...but time is too precious of a resource and I just didn't have it to put into it. So...off it goes to the Martin's to complete what I begun...and who knows, maybe it will end up back home itself!
"Eric, I spent the day at the Martin shop. I arrived with the French bass safe and sound and the lads at his shop have already begun prepping it for restoration. The Martin 4/4 I chose sounds right inline with the last one, an absolute beast, and the wood is beautifully selected! I'd say I can't wait to get back, but I'm happy if the bass comes home before me! Checkout the massive windmills attached I took pics of. One of me and George with the 4/4 and a 3/4 (I really want that bass too!) Then, checkout the farm house and rolling hills around where I'm staying! Ahhhhh... See you soon...or not ;) " Good things always come from Gary's visits home...and I am anxious for his return!
And as always, the best is yet to come...so stay tuned!!!And remember, if you have a favorite video clip, performance, or multimedia piece that is double related you want to share with me (and several thousand of my closest friends), please eMail me at eroy@uptonbass.com. Thanks!
