On Friday, March 19 of 2010 the ASPIRA Miguel del Valle Development Center hosted their 12th annual Atrevete Conference at Wilbur Wright College. The conference began with our  keynote speaker, Jamie Santana, a well known powerful attorney from the community.  He spoke about his life, tribulations and the path he endured to become successful. The conference continued with a series of workshops chosen by our students to prepare, educate, and engage students in relevant topics. Some of our topics included: Financial Aid, law enforcement, creative writing, self defense, youth in politics, Nursing, sports and legacy, communication with teens (parents) and music. Immediately following the series of workshops, the Atrevete College Fair began. Students were able to walk around and ask admission representatives questions about their schools or academic programs. The conference concluded with lunch provided by Wright College. Our event was very successful and the instant feedback from students was all positive. We would like to thank all who made our annual conference possible!
