September 2010

Welcome to our Newsletter!

September always seems to me like a very short month, maybe because the first part of it is  usually still devoted to everything school related? But the second half doesn't have to be...it can be for instance mom- related...that's why ourfiller
"Mini-Makeover Package", which includes free digital skin analysis with Visia, makeup application, skin care advice (and products samples)...all for ONLY $ 35.00 will be extended for another month. We are also planning a Radiesse Day on the 13th (13th doesn't have to be a bad day!) with great savings on this excellent dermal filler.
And since vacation is officially over it's time to keep learning. I'm excited to be able to attend later this month a hands-on liposuction workshop with some of the leading plastic surgeons...and it's in Las Vegas too...

Ready for a Refill?
If so, schedule an appointment on Monday, September 13 to receive an extra special pricing on Radiesse, long term volume fill for moderate to severe facial folds, cheek and chin augmentation, pre-jowl balancing and nonsurgical nose refinement.

What is Radiesse: An instant-result biocompatible filler consisting of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a water-based gel carrier.

Radiesse lasts about 18 months. Additionally, Radiesse offers collagen catalyst action - so even after the product itself has dissipated, additional collagen support will remain.
Radiesse requires no pretest. CaHA has been used extensively for vocal fold augmentation, maxillofacial augmentation and tissue marking.

If you have Stress, you may have Adrenal Fatigue

Adrenal fatigue can affect anyone who experiences frequent, persistent or severe mental, emotional or physical stress. It can also be an important contributing factor in health conditions ranging from allergies to obesity. Despite its prevalence in our modern world, adrenal fatigue has generally been ignored and misunderstood by the medical community.

Adrenal fatigue generally produces low cortisol levels, low blood pressure, low blood sugar and fatigue that leaves people feeling chronically below par and limping through life. People experiencing adrenal fatigue often overeat because they try to drive themselves with salty or sweet foods. Low cortisol can also negatively affect sleep, libido, mood, concentration, blood sugar metabolism, energy and immune function, among other things.

One of the tools recommended to assess adrenal function is a saliva hormone test. It measures the amount of cortisol and other adrenal hormones inside the cells where they are active.

Dr.Wilson's book on Adrenal Fatigue is an excellent source of information about stress, adrenal fatigue and what to do about it.

Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome (Smart Publications 2001) is a comprehensive, easy-to-use guide to uncovering, dealing with and preventing adrenal fatigue and the negative effects of stress on health.

Importance of Vitamin D
Vitamin D has long been recognized to help the body absorb calcium from the diet to build strong bones, and more recent research has shown that it has an effect on blood sugar balancing and bolstering immune health as well as being protective against many forms of cancer and also cardiovascular disease (heart attacks, strokes).

And let's not forget about vitamin D role in prevention and even treatment of skin conditions: psoriasis, atopic eczema, skin cancers. It also protects against skin infections from viruses, bacteria and fungi.

Product of the Month- Mirafit FBCx

Mirafit is a weight-loss product that helps remove dietary fat without causing the negative side effects of Xenical or Orlistat (Alli is the OTC version).
Although it has been on the market for over a year, Mirafit FBCx remains almost unknown. It is an all natural soluble fiber derived from non-GMO corn that has the unique ability to bind nine times its own weight in dietary fat. Mirafit along with removing fat provides 6g of fiber for the day.

Aside from weight loss, the studies show significant health benefits of Mirafit including:

-lower blood triglyceride levels by 30% and lower LDL levels.
-prevention of weight gain.
-lower blood serum leptin levels, indicting an increase in leptin sensitivity and therefore satiety. Decreased leptin sensitivity leads to over eating.
-increased insulin sensitivity, which may delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
-Mirafit produced no adverse side effects in all the conducted studies.

I think it will be a great adjunct to LipoEx or Zerona treatments because it binds fat and helps remove it from the system, and it may help improve the flushing of the body fat that is released during these treatments.
