March 2009

Dear,

Spring is in the air! It's time to start shopping for bikinis and work on getting in shape (maybe in a reverse order). Check out our Weight Loss Section to see how we can help. There are multiple options available, including mesotherapy, metabolism boosters, radiofrequency-assisted lipoplasty, HCG diet with drops or injections, metabolism assessment and detox/cleansing programs. There ways to get rid of cellulite too!

Starting May 1, 2009 we will not participate anymore in  health insurance networks.
It's a part of transitioning my practice into comprehensive Functional and Integrative Medicine practice, including wellness, nutrition and preventative medicine.
We will have a  fee schedule for office visits available in April.

Sincerely,

Anna Rosinska MD
Oprah encourages Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Oprah and Dr.Phil have been recently talking about benefits of taking natural hormones for  men and women. Starting Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) equals taking charge of your own health. BHRT uses hormones with chemical structure identical to the hormones produced naturally in human body.

Each person has unique needs and BHRT is customized accordingly to these individual needs. BHRT includes the following hormones: estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, DHEA, thyroid hormones, HGH (Human Growth Hormone), pregnenolone.

There are plenty of benfits from BHRT and to read more about them please check our webpage about Bio-identical Hormones.

Chemical Peels
What type is best for your skin?

The type and number of chemical peels required depend on your skin type and the concerns that need addressing. The degree of sun damage, skin pigmentation, enlarged or congested pores, skin ageing, or a tendency to acne determine what peel is best for your face. Get your skin ready for Spring!

1. The best peels for pigmentation: AHA face peels such as glycolic or lactic acid are best for pigmentation. The lactic acid is more hydrating, making it a better choice for mature, dry skin affected by pigmentation.

2. The best peels for acne: Salicylic acid  peels are the best for acne. These peels are the only peels that can penetrate into pores to exfoliate, remove oil and unblock pores, clear acne and blackheads.

3. The best peels for sun damage: If surface roughness, texture problems or fine lines and wrinkles concern you glycolic or lactic acid peels are the best choice to restore a more youthful glow.

4. The best peels for congested enlarged pores: once again salicylic acid peels are the best.

5.The best peels for rosacea: mandelic acid peel. This peel is great for sensitive rosacea skin and helps to calm irritation, redness and brightens pigmentation.

Our peels can be layered: If you have a combination of problems we can individualise your treatment and layer solutions to address multiple concerns in one treatment.

Book in for a free skin analysis to discuss your concerns and we can advise which face peel or combination will help your particular skin.

How is your Heart doing?
There is a way to find out

healhty heart

On Valentine's Day, heart shaped decorations were seen everywhere. At this time of year, we can be thinking about how our hearts are filled with so much love, but what about cholesterol? What about the risk of heart disease or strokes? They're unpleasant thoughts, but the reality is that heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. How is your heart doing? The three main cardiovascular diseases according to the American Heart Association are heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrests.

What can you do?
  • Have a baseline EKG at age 40
  • Have your cholesterol checked yearly
  • Know how much inflammation is in your heart and circulation:: check blood levels of CPR (C-reactive protein), homocysteine and fibrynogen every year
  • Stick to diet low in saturated fat. Exercise.
  • Take supplements: Coenzyme Q10, fish oil (lowers triglycerides),  red rice yeast (lowers cholesterol), pomegranate extract (lowers inflammation)

Cool Beauty Collection
SmoothBeam Laser
Spring Collection- Cool Beauty from Jane Iredale
Cool Beauty

Cool beauty is hot - especially this spring with aqua, the color of crystal clear water, all over the runways. Each azure-hued eye was complemented by delicate pink and nude lips and a soft complexion.
These clean uplifting colors remind us of days on the beach with balmy breezes and the taste of salt on our lips. Days when everything seemed in balance.
Now Jane's new collection says that once again there's no need to compromise health for beauty. That it's cool to care what we use on our bodies.
It's cool to appreciate our natural world. It's cool to be green.
