DrumJourneys Healing Dance
|
|
Saturday September 28th, 7:30-10pm
Calling all drummers and those who love to dance! Join us for our 4th DrumJourneys Healing Dance!
The DrumJourneys
Healing Dance goes like this: drum mers play quiet, meditative rhythms used for
trance and healing by spiritual groups in the Caribbean.
Dancers are invited to join the rhythms, calling in connection and healing,
letting the energy of the drums go deeper and deeper to awaken the body, heart
and one's own healing energies.
Eventually the pulse quickens, the energy grows, and joyous rowdy
dancing follows. The whole room vibrates with the healing energies of
the rhythms, our voices and our prayers.
Those who want to drum are invited to learn the rhythms and get in
sync with us at the Drum Circle 4:30pm that afternoon, led by Therese, and her drumming buddies Tom Brighton and
Micah Harding.Potluck dinner at 6:30 EVERYONE WELCOME!
The dancing will begin sometime after 7:30pm and we'll plan to be done
by 10pm.

Delighting in the Diva
|
|
Saturday October 25th, all day Facilitated by Kendra E. Thornbury
The August
"Delighting
in the Diva" was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!
One woman
declared it changed her life.
 Another said:
"You are an incredibly vibrant, beautiful, wise woman, and the way you facilitated this
day was beautiful. It was powerful, sometimes uncomfortable for me, but I would
advise any woman to take the leap and do it! You are a gift to all women! The
authentic, smooth way you helped us all feel comfortable, honored, loved, and
safe enough to step out of the old familiar comfort zone was
beautiful!
Your excitement for life is contagious and this day could not have come
at a more needed time for me!!"
Because it went so well and others have asked about more, Kendra decided to
schedule another in October.
This sacred gathering is limited to 8 women.

West Gathering into Mystery A day of song, drumming, ceremony & celebration!
|
|
Saturday October 4th A Red Lodge Event open to women and men
The Mission of the Women's Way Red Lodge (WWRL) is to ignite those open to a soul centered life through sharing sacred
experiences, practices and life skills grounded in the wisdom of the
Woman's Way.
The West Gathering starts at 10:30am with an Opening Ceremony with their Mother Drum, followed by a potluck lunch. After lunch there are two 2-hour workshops offered: "Singing out Spirit/Heart" with Kimber SongWeaver Godsey and Djembe Drum workshop with Bill Matthews (his art to left). A wonderful chef named Emilia is offering a catered dinner followed by drumming, singing, story-telling and other Bonfire Festivities. Women involved in Red Lodge will be selling their art at a crafts fair all day. Overnight lodgers are welcome to stay at Sacred Groves and share in a light breakfast and closing ceremony in the morning. Click here to see the schedule and/or click here to read the Women's Way Red Lodge recent e-zine which has a lengthier description of the event.
Sacred Groves has been involved with WWRL since its inception and Therese is hoping this event will expand the web of men and women "collaborating in the work of creating
space, time, relationship, and ceremony to invite
each other to engage through sacred mystery
in the evolution of humankind as our world moves into balance." (from the WWRL Vision) She hopes to see people she knows from Women of Wisdom, Sacred Fire Choir, Women's Summer Solstice Camp, Gaias Temple, BodySong... linking them with the WWRL network.

GRIEF RITUAL RETREAT
|
|
NOVEMBER 22-23 Men and Women welcome
One of the gifts of the Groves
is to provide opportunities for people to work with their grief and loss in a
supportive environment. For several years Therese and Kendra
have offered a two day Grief Retreat during the dark months and a Wailing Lodge one Friday evening per month.
The format for the Grief Retreat includes time in talking circles, meditation,
movement, quiet time in the woods, eating wonderful food, co-creating a grief
altar together (photo). The heart of the 'work' is two rituals: a
one-round "wailing' sweatlodge and a grief ritual that Therese learned
from her mentor Sobonfu Some. On Sunday, we debrief and bring closure with a
'burial ritual.' Because of the variety of activities, everyone finds a
way to touch-into and release personal grief in the supportive container we
co-create.
If you are interested in this retreat, please e-mail for more
information. Overnight accommodations can be arranged for those who live
at-a-distance.
