June 2012 - Issue 6

Greetings!

It's June and the close of our 30th year. I want to thank our Board members and admin, Jennifer Covello, for all their hard work this year. We all appreciate it.

We have done a lot with a few resources in 2012 and so as our Board expands, we are jumping into planning our 31st season with gusto.

Three new Board members have been added and we will all be looking to expand our membership and volunteer base. We want to be the premier entrepreneurial women's networking organization in Fairfield County. We can only do that with your help.

Beginning in September, our team will be rolling out a schedule of great programming to help you grow your business, meet other like-minded women entrepreneurs, relax and have fun.

We will be looking to you to pitch in. If you can help out with the hospitality table, special projects or have an interesting talent to offer, let us know. We are depending on you!

Our annual GNE event this year had a smaller attendance than in the past but according to our survey results, it seemed that people enjoyed the delicious food, great networking and Carol Ann Small's humor. Thanks to all of our terrific sponsors and the Board for making it happen.

We will be kicking off our 31st year with Kate White, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Ms. White will share three secrets from her latest book, "I Shouldn't Be Telling You This": 1) Asking for what you want, 2) Not worrying about whether people will like you, 3) and learning how to "drain the swamp as you slay the alligators"

This will be a great event and we are excited to have her as our speaker! Many thanks to our event sponsor, Jane Pollak. Watch the EWN website and our FaceBook group for more details on the event.

Have a great summer, enjoy your family and may your business flourish!

See you in September!

Testimonial

I joined EWN after launching my business, Omaginarium. Since becoming a member, I've connected with a fantastic group of women who have become my Mastermind group. These women have not only become trusted and respected advisors, my board of directors, and accountability partners, but my confidants as well.

I see EWN as the parent group of this inner circle. EWN has bolstered my confidence with its fabulous, targeted programming and smart, smart women. It assured me that I am not in this sometimes scary world of entrepreneurship alone. The joint knowledge, skills and support systems I've received from my 2 plus years of membership is, in a word, priceless.
