EWN

MAY 2011

Issue: 5

Dear EWN Members & Friends:

Spring has finally sprung!  May flowers abound and planning for EWN's 30th year is taking seed as well. If you are an EWN member, please be sure to monitor your email inbox for presentation of the 2011-2012 Board slate and make your voices heard by casting your votes for each member of the proposed Board for next year.  Voting is required by May 31.

We are also planning events for the upcoming year right now so if there is a topic you think we haven't addressed or you would like to see more of, please contact me or any member of the Board sooner rather than later.  Believe me - we want to hear from you.

Finally, don't miss our last two events of the year!

On Monday, May 16, marketing expert Carolyn Walker will lead our Morning Workshop on Marketing Using Google AdWords and Analytics, one of the easiest ways to market your business on the internet.

And mark your calendars now for one of our most well-attended events, EWN's Grand Networking Event, on Monday, June 6.
Meet dozens of other entrepreneurs and enjoy three hours of business connections.   After cocktails on the patio, you will rotate tables for your salad course, your entrée, and finally your dessert and coffee.  Register to attend by June 1st to be included in the rotation.  Every time you move, get to know new people!   And if you would like to market your business at our event, choose from 4 levels of sponsorship - Orchid, Tulip, Hydrangea or Violet (all purple!).  Read more at the EWN web site.

Kim Bensen author of Finally Thin and owner/ founder of Kim Bensen Enterprises, including Kim's Light Bagels, is our Keynote Speaker and will share her amazing story of business and personal success.  David Smith, a news anchor for more than 20 years on News12 CT, will be our emcee and will help to keep things rolling!

Thank you for your support of EWN - and hope to see you soon!

Happy May!

MONDAY JUNE 6, 2011
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Norwalk Inn

Keynote Speaker:  Kim Bensen of
Kim Bensen Enterprises

Would you risk your entire savings and start your own company in this economy? That is what Kim Bensen did! And she did it after losing more than 200 pounds! After her story hit the mass media, many people were sending Kim e-mails asking how she lost the weight, what kept her focused, and how she managed the willpower to stay 'with it' this time. Soon she had penned a cookbook and she and her husband used $20,000 as seed money to start their own weight-loss company. Before long Random House came knocking and made a preemptive offer on her book, Finally Thin.

Today, she has 10 employees devoted to helping people lose weight. Her line of fresh bagels, Kim's Light Bagels, are available in grocery stores across New England. And now she's entering the snack food industry with Kim's Light Bagel Chips. Her company sends a weekly e-newsletter to over 25,000 subscribers, she holds in-person meetings in Shelton, CT and will soon be opening a new 12,000 square foot facility, the Kim Bensen Weight Loss Center. She also offers online subscriptions to her LIVE WITH KIM weight loss meetings which has members from all 50 states.

Kim has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show, Nightline, the cover of Prevention, Women's World, Connecticut Magazine, MSNBC Today Show, Better TV, Good Morning America, Extra, and will be in All You magazine this July.

David Smith, host of Cablevision's "Meet the Leaders" will be Master of Ceremonies.
