A Word from our President

So Much to be Grateful For!

It's hard to believe it is November already and that the Thanksgiving holiday is just a few short weeks away; a time when we traditionally give thanks for all the wonderful blessings in our lives. As I reflect on what I am especially grateful for this year, I am filled with gratitude for this amazing opportunity to lead EWN as its new President and, to be surrounded by such an incredible body of phenomenal business women.

I am both excited and energized by the possibilities that lay ahead for EWN in the coming year and beyond to build on the success of this dynamic organization and give our membership of entrepreneurial women a world-class experience in networking.

I am fostering a renewed sense of commitment to the vision of EWN and I see the coming year as one that is filled with new possibilities that will hopefully bring another dimension of success to each of our lives as entrepreneurs and as women.

So, as we consider the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, let us all be thankful for not only what EWN has already uniquely brought to our lives, but also for what we have to look forward to.  I hope you are planning to join us for our Annual Networking Luncheon on November 16th and be thankful for the opportunity we are afforded through this fantastic event to network amongst each other and discover ways we can help each other grow our respective businesses.

Thank you to each of you for all you do to make EWN the great organization it is. Thank you to all of our new and existing Board members, committee members and volunteers for stepping up and believing in EWN; we value your participation and appreciate your efforts. I am honored to serve as your President.

Live and Be Happy
Happy Thanksgiving!

November Networking Luncheon

Give Thanks to Our Community
at EWN's Annual Networking Luncheon
Norwalk Inn & Conference Center
99 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT  06851

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Fee: In the spirit of community partnership, both Members and non-Members receive the same discount price: $35.
(There is a $5.00 walk in surcharge.)

Every year, EWN's Annual Networking Luncheon is a sell-out success. Why? Because networking is so important to all of our businesses. Networking is a way to find new business opportunities, share ideas, meet inspirational role models, combat isolation, increase your confidence and help you to build long-term relationships.

Our Annual Networking Luncheon will give you many opportunities to meet new people. Before sitting down to lunch, you will have the chance to network the room. Then, after you sit, you will be "rotating tables," so that you eat your entree at one table and move on to another for desert.

A food drive to support the Bridgeport Rescue Mission will also be part of this luncheon.  Please bring your donations (dry pasta, canned goods, bags of rice, etc.) to the luncheon.  The Bridgeport Rescue Mission serves hungry, homeless and addicted people throughout Fairfield County, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The organization fights poverty from the inside out by providing a place of hope and dignity through a year-long educational program, counseling and case management.

Registration closes on Friday, November 12th, at 5PM.
Anyone registering after that time will not be included in the table rotation, but you will be able to network with everyone seated at your table.

This Luncheon is sponsored by Runaway Divas. Runaway Divas is a new venture carrying only the latest, high quality clothing and accessories. January 2011 Luncheon
"It's 2011:  Do You Know Where Your Goals Are?"
with Jane Pollak
Jane Pollak

On Wednesday, January 19, 2011, Jane will talk to the EWN audience about goal setting.  Jane states, "This will be a great opportunity to begin the new year and learn how to assess what you really want in 2011, and get a jump start to achieving your goals."

Jane Pollak is a living example of how being a member of the Entrepreneurial Woman's Network can turn a passion into a thriving business. In 1989 as a member of EWN, Jane started her career in the unlikely field of egg decoration. Now she is a successful entrepreneur, professional public speaker, author, and business coach.  Jane was also the EWN President in 1996-1997.

This Luncheon is sponsored by the 5Rhythms Dance/Movement Practice, which is a tool to help us navigate these times of constant change and bring our bodies, hearts and minds into alignment. Using music from around the world, we dance freestyle through five energies or beats:

- Flowing, to experience being fluid and letting things in
- Staccato, to focus our passion and clearly express ourselves
- Chaos, to shed what is not needed
- Lyrical, to traverse the earth with a lightness of spirit
- Stillness, to move peacefully in the rhythms of our breath

Classes are held monthly in the Westport/Norwalk area and are open to everyone, regardless of age, size or physical ability - especially healing for those who like to show off or those who can barely show up, survivors of bad backs, bum knees or broken hearts.  Come move, groove and have fun!
