Priest/interfaith environmentalist Sally Bingham to speak in Louisville Appearances include talk at St. Matthew's
Renowned Episcopal priest and interfaith advocate for the environment, Sally Bingham will be in Louisville this week to be the keynote speaker for an interfaith pilgrimage Wednesday, April 7, but also to speak at a fundraising dinner for the Greening West Louisville initiative, Tuesday, April 6.
Bingham,
a homemaker turned priest, has won numerous awards and national recognition for developing a new strategy to combat global warming: organize churches, synagogues, Buddhist temples and mosques to buy "green" electricity generated by wind and solar power, to reduce energy consumption in their buildings, and to preach the message that as stewards of God's creation, congregants have a religious and moral obligation to protect the environment.

This is an abbreviated newsletter, partly because I have been out of the office to attend a professional conference, enjoy a few days of respite and recover from a severe head cold. But the newsletter is also abbreviated for another reason. We depend on you, our departments and congregations to send us news and information. Please know we want and need to hear from you.
We in the diocesan office hope you have a blessed Easter weekend,
Mary Jane Cherry Editor maryjane@episcopalky.org
