The Bishop Search and Transition Committee has now published online a series of reflections by each of the four nominees for the eighth bishop of Kentucky.

182nd Convention in retrospect Voices, views of young adults are brought into discernment process for new bishop
The 182nd Convention of the Diocese of Kentucky approved a $1.5 million budget, elected a new slate of diocesan leaders and adopted a host of resolutions, but this annual meeting was not about business as usual, thanks to the bishop and a panel of young adult Episcopalians who cherish their church and want more from it.
Retiring in September, Bishop Ted Gulick focused his annual address on the convention's theme "Generation to Generation" and organized a "Generation to Generation Dialogue" that followed so, he reported, those entrusted with electing a new bishop in June could hear from an under-represented group of Episcopalians, the 20-something "Millennials" and their predecessors, the "Gen-Xers."

Bishop recalls 'extraordinary' moments of ministry in last annual convention address
Addressing the Convention of the Diocese of Kentucky on Saturday (Feb.
27), Bishop Ted Gulick claimed the bishop's primary role of over-seer
of the diocese as he has in the past, reflecting on the achievements
and challenges of the prior year, but this year he did not offer his
vision for the future.

Sixteen elected, 36 appointments made
Sixteen clergy and lay members of the diocese were elected during diocesan convention to serve as officers or fill vacancies on diocesan
boards, committees and organizations. In addition, Bishop Ted Gulick
announced 36 one-year appointments to diocesan commissions and
committees. The annual meeting of Kentucky Episcopalians was held Feb. 26 and 27 at Grace Church in Paducah.

New ministry to be celebrated
A service celebrating the new ministry of the Rev. Mitch Bojarski will be at 7 p.m. (ET) Tuesday (March 9) at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 116 S. Columbia Ave., Campbellsville.
Bojarski became St. Thomas's new vicar in January after serving for about two years at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green, where he was assistant rector and the college chaplain for Western Kentucky University students.
Clergy planning to attend are requested to take note that the liturgical color will be purple.

ParenTeen seminar March 19 at St. Francis
Dr. Chap Clark, author of Hurt: Inside the World of Today's Teenagers and Disconnected: Parenting Teens in a MySpace World, will lead a free ParenTeen seminar from 6 to 9 p.m. (ET) Friday, March 19, at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church in Harrods Creek.
The ParenTeen seminar is being offered for parents and other caring adults as a way to draw generations together with the goal of making a difference in the life of a teen. During the seminar, Clark will give strategies to help parents develop a more authentic, effective relationship with their teen.

Don Vish photo exhibit to open March 5
"Poetry in the Landscape," a photographic exhibit of works by
Louisville attorney, photographer and writer Donald Vish, will open at
Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville for the popular First Friday
Trolley Hop on March 5. Just as the exhibit's announcement promises,
no longer will "the familiar scenes and landmarks of our routine lives
blur into the background" when seen in Vish's photographs.

'Now is our new creation,' Haiti bishop tells Episcopal Church
[Episcopal News Service]
Episcopal Diocese of Haiti Bishop Jean Zaché Duracin has written to the wider church saying that the magnitude-7 earthquake that struck the country Jan. 12 "was our baptism."
"Now is our new creation," Duracin wrote on March 5.
