have begun. There are 24 meetings this year and our
on-line calendar will indicate times, dates and
locations.

As we approach the halfway point of National Safe
Digging Month, NSDM, CGA members are ramping up
public awareness activities and educating potential
diggers using a variety of mediums.
FASTLANE, the official blog of Mr. Ray LaHood, U.S.
Secretary of the Department of Transportation,
highlights the importance of supporting NSDM and
calling 811 prior to digging in a detailed post today.

We are happy to announce we have implemented the
new and improved version of map services, or
Member Service Area Mapping (MSAM).
This new product allows members to VIEW, EDIT and
submit their database changes through a web
browser.
It take the place of the old, phase 2, version that we
have been running for several years. The new phase
3 version, allows a member to not only view their own
database, but to make edits using a variety of tools,
submit those changes to the GIS / database dept at
Tennessee811, and then check the status of
that update as it progresses through the editing
phase at TOCS and is implemented into the
production database.
Members can then view the changes they submitted
the following day using the same web site. Any
adjustments can be made at that time and the
process is again, repeated.
