Greetings!
The forecasters are telling us that there will be no snow for the
holidays this year. Should we be sad or happy about this?
Stormy weather or not, you can stay close to home and shop
here at the Co-op, or visit us online. We have books for
everyone on your shopping list.
Congratulations to Ken Neubeck, emeritus, for winning the 2006
Gustavus Myers Book Award Honorable Mention for his book
When Welfare Disappears. The award is given by the
Gustavus Myers Center for the Study of Bigotry and Human
Rights.
And congratulations to Marilyn Nelson who was recently
honored by the Connecticut Center for the Book for her Lifetime
Achievement in Service to the Literary Community.
Don't forget, we’re here all during break. It's a quiet time to
browse. And we’ll be open the 23rd (10 am – 6pm) and the
24th (10am –3 pm) for your last minute shopping.
See you soon!
Suzy
(Some Holiday Cheer for You! During the year, we hold

December 18th, we will hold daily drawings through

A Few Recommendations
from your booksellers
We see lots of books, and although I am not one who
believes
that there can ever be too many, the truth is, there are
some coming out today that don't deserve our too scarce
time. However, there are hundreds of truly wonderful books
being written and published that do deserve our attention.
We've selected few of the best for you:
Christmas Remembered by Tomie dePaola is an
autobiography told through memories of Christmas, from the
World War II years up to the present. Read the book out
loud and you will find yourself sharing your own Christmas
stories. For all ages.
