Sustainable Living Book Fair & Conference
April 20, 21, & 22
Today, our newspaper headlines warn of the consequences of
global warming; our electric bills soar; our winter
strawberries are flown and trucked thousands of miles before
they reach our tables. More and more of us have come to
believe that we can’t go on this way if the children who come
after us are to have decent lives. Many worry about the
rising costs of our utilities and fuel. We wonder if next
summer’s storms will be worse than this year’s.
Patricia Klindienst, author
We are booksellers. We don’t have the answers ourselves,
but on our shelves, we have many books written by experts,
thinkers, scientists, engineers, environmentalists and others
who ponder the future and offer ideas and solutions. These
are books that offer hope and guidance for us today so that
we will leave the earth in good health for our children and
grandchildren.
For the Sustainable Living Book Fair & Conference we have
brought in an even larger selection of books on these topics.
We have also invited many experts to speak and share their
wisdom, and those who have written books, to autograph
them. We are grateful for the work that Richard Miller and
the Office of Environmental Policy and the Eco- Huskies are
doing on campus and the assistance they have given us with
this event. We also want to highlight their exciting Earth Day
events running concurrently with the Book Fair.
