The One Minute Manager . . . . .

A recent visit to the dentist provided a useful insight into how other professionals have modified their business to improve profitability and reduce client costs.

On arrival at the dentist?s office I was promptly greeted by the dental hygienist. I was whisked down the hall where she very capably provided valuable preventative treatment. The dentist then dropped in for a few moments for his expert assessment. It was a good client experience. The dental hygienist's care over the years has certainly saved me from the dentist?s drill and I also had the needed care of the dentist ? albeit briefly.

This experience certainly differs from my early days at the dentist. The dentist was my sole provider of dental care with no paraprofessional preventative care. I recall sitting endlessly in the waiting room as appointments backed up on the frantic dentist. The dental experience of yesterday is similar to the current day experience for many law firm clients.

Consider how the dentist model can work effectively in a law firm. Your personable law clerk or assistant greets your client promptly. She capably gathers the information and provides instruction to the client on the steps to be expected for the transaction. The lawyer then joins the meeting and is able to provide concise legal counsel without the need for preliminary fact gathering. In addition, a client relationship has been established with your assistant so that future enquires can be comfortably screened without interrupting the lawyer.

Your clients enjoy lower costs and prompt courteous service. The law firm gains new found revenue from the effective use of paralegals, the staff enjoys greater job satisfaction, and the lawyer?s time is more efficient. A win/win situation that gives you the competitive advantage.

We welcome the opportunity of assisting you in gaining efficiencies.
