CUREToday.com talks about Fatigue

(written by Melissa Weber)

There's nothing like a good night's sleep-unless cancer is what's making you tired.

About nine of every 10 patients struggle with fatigue during treatment, and unlike everyday fatigue, cancer-related fatigue is a debilitating exhaustion that can't be cured with a soft bed or cup of coffee. Sleep offers no relief against the persistent tiredness. And the side effect can drain some patient to the point where they can't stand in the shower or muster the energy to dress.

Greetings!

Vicki TashmanI have some very exciting news!! We are in the process of updating our website! When we launched Pink-Link in February, 2006, Facebook was only 2 years old, YouTube was not a household word and no one knew what a "blog" was! Only 5 years later and these three web formats have changed our lives and now they're going to help enhance Pink-Link.

We'll have full integration to your Facebook and blog pages and the ability to display YouTube videos from our members and others.
I would appreciate your help in supporting Pink-Link with this redesign process as we are a nonprofit 501(3)c organization that relies on the generous support of members, friends, families and corporations. Please take a moment and click on our donate page. ANY amount is greatly appreciated! If you'd like to donate in honor or in memory of someone, please make a note of it in the "comments" section of the Paypal page.

I'm very proud of Pink-Link and the support provided to thousands of breast cancer survivors and thank you in advance for your donation.

Sincerely,

Victoria Tashman

August Monthly Contest
Wearing the Not Done Yet t-shirt
Wearing my NDY t-shirt with my dog, Lucy
I turned 50 a couple of years ago and felt conflicted about it. Our society puts a lot of emphasis on being young, looking young and feeling young. To me, 50 was "old" and I wasn't ready for it. I wasn't "done yet." I'm NOT DONE YET! I have many more things to accomplish and experience! I have a friend, Carol April, who felt the same way. She wanted to start a movement within her generation. NDY, Not Done Yet is that movement.

Carol designed a special NDY logo for breast cancer awareness, because, as survivors WE'RE NOT DONE YET!  She has generously donated 5 pink t-shirts and 5 pink tanks with the breast cancer NDY logo! In addition, if you buy the awareness logo t-shirt or tank on her website during the month of August, she'll donate 20% back to Pink-Link!

So, to enter this month's contest, please send me an email and tell me why you're NOT DONE YET. At the beginning of September, I'll put all the names in a bowl and pick out 10 winners. Your names and email addresses will be sent to Carol, who will contact you for shirt size and mailing address.

To follow up on last month's contest, a beautiful healing bracelet and pendant were donated by AlefBet Jewelry by Paula. The charms contain a healing prayer in hebrew and I asked the contestants to email me some of their own healing prayers that helped them through their breast cancer journey. I received some very beautiful prayers that I've shared on my blog.     AlefBet Jewelry by Paula will donate 20% of all sales using this link, to Pink-Link through the month of October!

A couple of months ago, we gave away copies of the book, "The Foremost Good Fortune" by Susan Conley. One of our Pink-Link members, Eileen Kaplan (author of her own book called "Laughter is the Breast Medicine") wrote a review for us.
