Short term Radiation Therapy for Breast Cancer Survivors
An intense three-week course of radiation therapy is just as effective as the standard five-week regimen for women with early-stage breast cancer.Dr. Tim Whelan, a professor of oncology of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University, led a team of researchers which found that women who received the accelerated therapy have a low risk of the breast cancer for as long as 12 years after treatment.

Linking Patients with Alternative Therapies
Biological-based therapies such as diet supplements and vitamins are the most popular complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) for women recovering from breast cancer, according to a Michigan State University researcher working to create a support intervention for women in treatment for the disease.
