Greetings!
Welcome September! I can't believe summer is over, school has started and the end of 2009 is almost upon us! Time is just flying by. If you're going through treatment, I hope it's flying by for you too. Remember, there is a light at the end of the treatment tunnel and you'll get there! We are still taking registrations for our 2nd Scrap'n Support fundraiser on October 10th. It's hosted by Remember When Scrapbooking in Valencia, CA and run by Scrapbook Royalty. We hope you can join us! I want to thank DaCapo Press and Lange Productions for donating their books for our August contest. We had a lot of interest and some great stories about chemo brain. You can also buy either of these books, "Be a Survivor" and "Your Brain After Chemo" through Amazon. Have a wonderful month. I hope you're feeling well and empowered!
Sincerely,
Victoria Tashman

Laura Boitano, an undergraduate at Georgetown University, is conducting a study for her senior honors research thesis and is looking at the effect
of yoga on the immune status of breast cancer patients. She is currently
recruiting patients on a rolling basis for both the yoga and non-yoga groups. She
asks that patients in the yoga group participate in yoga at least two times a
week. They can participate at home or at a yoga studio. Additionally, patients
in the yoga group as well as patients who are not doing yoga will be asked a
series of survey questions bi-weekly over the telephone about their stress
level, health and cold symptoms. The questions will take less than 5 minutes
to answer. The study lasts a total of four months once the patient starts.
Patients must have active breast cancer; they can be recurrent breast cancer
patients, and at some point in their treatment, they must have had either
chemotherapy or radiation.
Contact Laura at ltb5@georgetown.edu or 631-838-1587.
