Greetings!
This is always a bitter sweet month for me. I love how breast cancer is constantly in the media, creating awareness and reminding women to get their annual mammograms. But it also reminds me of my own breast cancer treatment and brings up that fear of reoccurrence. It's hard to be reading a magazine and on every other page is something about breast cancer! But I know that I need to further the awareness campaign by getting Pink-Link involved. So, please check out the various resources and information highlighted in this issue. And, don't forget about the resources listed on our website! I also want to announce that I've been asked to be a regular blogger on a new website, Intent.com. Intent,
as a brand and Web site, aspires to be the most trusted wellness
destination for capturing and sharing peoples intentions - personal,
social, spiritual and environmental. I will be writing about breast cancer and things I wish I had known, so check it out at www.intent.com. I hope you're feeling well and feeling empowered! Vicki Tashman Founder Pink-Link

Help Raise Money for Pink-Link and Other Charities
|
|
You can help... There are a variety of ways you can help raise money for Pink-Link.
1. Participate in our virtual raffle for a beautiful pink ribbon handmade quilt, donated by CampGetaway.com. The winner will be chosen on October 31st at noon (PDT), so visit our website to purchase your tickets.
2. When selling something on eBay, choose Pink-Link as the beneficiary. To get more information, click here.

3. Tell all your online retailers about Change Round Up and to choose Pink-Link as their charity of choice. When you complete an online purchase, simply "round up" your total and that extra change will be donated to Pink-Link! It's like the old "change jar" that we use at home to collect our pennies at the end of the day. Find out more by visiting their website.
 4. During the month of October, SnapFish is giving 30% of all proceeds of photo calendars and stationery products featuring "Pink Designs" to BreastCancer.org.

5. From now through October 31, ATP Electronics will be selecting breast cancer stories posted on their website and giving these selected stories a 1GB Pink Ribbon Petito USB drive as a way to show their support. You can also buy a Pink Ribbon USB drive and 10% of the sale will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure!
6. FiveHumans® (www.fivehumans.com) is a company on a mission to
cure ignorance of disease through hip, fashionable clothing. The
collection supports numerous world-wide diseases such as Autism,
Cancer, Asthma, Diabetes, and Heart Disease.
Through their creativity, FiveHumans launched a complete collection of
disease related t-shirts for men and women, as well as a line for children:
LittleHumans. Use coupon code "PinkLink" to receive 5% off your purchase. Remember, 20% of the price of the shirt is donated to a cancer related charity.
7. Few songs have lifted a woman's spirit like "I will Survive". This classic song made famous by Gloria Gaynor has become a symbol of strength for women everywhere. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Lyric Culture is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each "I will Survive" t-shirt and tank to the City of Hope's breast cancer and research program.
8. Help Pink-Linker, Anne, raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure by buying pink ribbon products from her. Read about her mission and why it's important to support her.

| We Say Goodbye to...
|

Courtney Clevenger Courtney was one of the first Pink-Linkers. I met her at the Young Survivors Conference in February, 2006. Our website had just launched and she came up to our booth asking if we had any young survivors like her. I know that over the years, she made connections with many survivors, both young and older and will be missed by all. A fellow Pink-Linker, Carolyne, wrote the following, "Courtney & I shared the darkness together. We let our guard down with each
other, and both of us wanted to change the world & the breast cancer
community."
