Greetings!

There are a couple of exciting events being planned for the spring. On April 27th, we are having our first Bowling for Boobies in Los Angeles. It will be a fun packed afternoon of bowling and raising money for Pink-Link. If you won't be in the LA area, you can still participate in the fundraising process, so please watch for our invitation by email at the end of the month.

We are also planning a special Mother's Day promotion with the nonprofit organization, We Are Linked. By shopping on their website, www.wearelinked.org, and spending a minimum of $100, all profits will be donated to Pink-Link and a special gold pendant necklace will be donated to a breast cancer survivor! It's the perfect way to shop for Mother's Day. An email will be sent out detailing the promotion.

Take care and I hope you're feeling well,

Vicki Tashman

In particular, people undergoing cancer treatment may be at a higher risk for dehydration due to treatment side effects, such as diarrhea and vomiting. Learning how to stay hydrated, and recognizing and treating dehydration before it becomes severe, are important steps for good health.

  Calling All Survivors

Northwestern University's Department of Sociology invites women between 18 and 40 years of age who have been diagnosed with or who have had breast cancer to participate in an interview-based study.  Participants will be interviewed by phone about their fertility concerns, family life, and future family plans.  To find out more information or to participate in the study, please contact Dr. Karrie Ann Snyder, at karrie-snyder@northwestern.edu or 847/467-0517.

Privacy Clothing is now accepting submissions for an upcoming book documenting the inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors. With a focus on people working within the creative industries, the project will tell the personal stories of survivors and double as an educational resource. The narrative- and image-rich coffee table book will be produced and directed by emeht, the award winning team behind THEME Magazine. Timed for an October 2008 release for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the book will be distributed through Privacy's established breast cancer education networks
.
