For the sin we have sinned before You
with legs that run to do evil; And for the sin we have sinned before You by gossip-mongering.
Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Gossip Mongering: LaShon Hara-The Evil Tongue
HaShem B'Shem Yeshua - Please put your arm around my shoulders and your hand over my MOUTH.
This sin has destroyed more Congregations and Reputations of godly men and woman of God than anything else.
Why are we so quick to believe evil about someone because of someone elses words. Most of the time a person who spreads LaShon Hara is a person who is filled with bitterness and self hate. The only way they can feel better about themselves is to destroy others through evil words.
Have we caused others to turn against Pastors/Rabbis and Teachers because of our own bitterness and anger? Have we been corrected by our Pastor/Rabbi only to have us turn and rip him apart in front of others because we could not recieve Godly counsel?
Have we ruined someones reputation because we did not like them? How many young people are tormented by fellow class mates with words?
We do not realize how powerful our words are and what a deadly poison they are. People are so quick to believe the worst about someone even if they have never met the person themselves.
If you are going to speak words about someone the why don't you speak THE WORD.
We all need to ask God to circumsize our lips that they would only be used to speak the TRUTH and not gossip and slander. What is TRUTH? His Word.
Next time you are thinking evil about someone or tempted to speak against them, why don't you stop and think of something positive first.
I am not referring to standing against evil and speaking out against ungodliness in the world. I am talking about how we treat each others as brothers and sisters in Messiah.
Do we rip apart our husbands and wifes behind their backs and think it is funny? Do we make jokes about peoples looks or the way they talk? Do we humiliate people in front of others?
There is a Jewish Saying "From Your Mouth To God's Ears". What do we want God to hear? An evil report or a good report?
