Create In Me A Clean Heart Oh Adonai and Renew a Right Spirit Within Me

Day 10
Al Chet Prayer

The Goal Of Al Chet Is To Get To The Root Of The Problem.  To become more like Yeshua and to become conformed to His Image and Torah is a process, it does not happen over night.  The key is never to give up, because He does not give up on us.  We are all under construction and a work in process.

#9  For the sin that we have sinned before You through inner thoughts.

Psa 139:1[For the leader. A psalm of David:] Adonai, you have probed me, and you know me.
Psa 139:2 You know when I sit and when I stand up, you discern my inclinations from afar,
Psa 139:3 you scrutinize my daily activities. You are so familiar with all my ways
Psa 139:4 that before I speak even a word, Adonai, you know all about it already.

Psa 139:23 Examine me, God, and know my heart; test me, and know my thoughts.
Psa 139:24 See if there is in me any hurtful way, and lead me along the eternal way.

Our thoughts are an open book to God, we can hide what we are thinking from others but God knows what is inside of us.

If we are having problems with inner thoughts, then we need to renew our mind with the Word of God.  There is a saying "junk in junk out"  If you are feeding your mind with junk, that is what your thoughts will be comsumed with. So if you fill your mind with His Word, then it will replace the inner thoughts that are evil with the purity of His Word.

Rom 8:6 Having one's mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one's mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom.
Rom 8:7 For the mind controlled by the old nature is hostile to God, because it does not submit itself to God's Torah - indeed, it cannot.
Rom 8:8 Thus, those who identify with their old nature cannot please God.
Rom 8:9 But you, you do not identify with your old nature but with the Spirit - provided the Spirit of God is living inside you, for anyone who doesn't have the Spirit of the Messiah doesn't belong to him. (Complete Jewish Bible)

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 humility, self control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things.
Gal 5:24 Moreover, those who belong to the Messiah Yeshua have put their old nature to death on the stake, along with its passions and desires. (Complete Jewish Bible)

Another Version puts it this way,

Gal 5:22 But the p'ri of the Ruach HaKodesh is ahavah (agape), simcha (joy), shalom (peace), zitzfleisch (patience), nedivut (generosity, kindness), chesed (loving-kindness), ne'emanut (faithfulness),
Gal 5:23 Anavah (meekness, shiflut, lowliness), shlitah atzmi (self-control)...would you not agree?--against these things there is no isser (proscription in the Torah).
(Orthdox Jewish Brit Chadasha)

Php 4:8 As to the rest, Achim b'Moshiach, whatever things are emes (truth), nichbad (noble), yashar (straight), tahor (clean), male No'am (full of pleasantness) and tiferet (beauty) [SHEMOT 28:2], whatever things are commendable, if there is any virtue, if any praise, think about these things. (Orthodox Jewish Brit Chadasha)

Rom 12:1 I appeal to you, therefore, Achim b'Moshiach, through the rachamei Hashem (mercies of G-d), to present your geviyah (BERESHIS 47:18), all of your being as a korban chai (living sacrifice), kadosh (holy) and acceptable to Hashem (BERESHIS 8:21), which is your spiritual avodas kodesh service.
Rom 12:2 Stop allowing yourself to be conformed to the Olam Hazeh, but be transformed by your hitkhadshut (regeneration, renewal) of your mind, so that you may ascertain what is the ratzon Hashem (the will of G-d), what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of G-d. (Orthodox Jewish Brit Chadasha)

If we do not learn to control our inner thoughts, they will become strong holds within our hearts.

Again out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.  When destructive words come out of your mouth, it is because you have already allowed them in your mind and to enter your heart.  Then in a fit of anger you spew the poisen from your lips and then say "Oh I didn't mean it".   Yes you did because it was already within you otherwise you would not have said it in the first place.

Mat 15:18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

 *Journal - Food For Thought

The Talmud says that 'Bad thoughts are (in one way) even worse then bad deeds" This is because from a spiritual perspective, "thoughts" represent a higher dimension of human activity.  ("Thoughts" are rooted in the spiritual world, "deeds" are rooted in the physical world)

Ask Yourself:

Did I think in a negative way about people, or wish bad upon them?

Did I fantasize about doing bad deeds?

On Saturday August 22, 2009 the new moon was sighted from Jerusalem by Devorah Gordon at 7:02, by Johan Schutte at 7:10, and by Dina Marcus at 7:22pm. We are still waiting to hear from some observers whether or not they sighted it from
Israel on Friday night.   Nehemiah Gordon
