August is a busy month for me. Here in Arizona, the school year starts on August 8th. It seems so "out of balance" to miss a whole month of summer. It wasn't that way when I was a kid. We had a full three months off - June, July and August. Oh, how I looked forward to that break from school activities.
This year my daughter, Alanah, started high school and there was a flurry of activity and emotions to get her settled and grounded. Her summer was fleeting and she was hanging on to every last minute as if it was her last. This is what we do when we resist change. We don't face forward.
She was not ready for school to start. The nerves. The anticipation. Isn't it that way for all of us when we are growing in a direction that is unfamiliar? I felt for her but I also just wanted her to dive in and create the best experience for herself.
High school. What a ride. If only I had known then what I know now... I was halfway in and most of the way out, back when.
Watching the Olympic gold medalists, I was reminded of the benefit of dedication and hours devoted to achievement. Weren't they amazing?!
It is inspiring to watch those that were " all in " with what they were doing. I could tell those that were completely lined up within themselves. The nailed it! It brought tears to my eyes and chills up my spine.
At this point in my life, I am learning even more of what it means to be " all in."
I joined two different year long coaching programs this year. One in January and one in April and a 6 month group coaching program in July. My commitment and dedication to achieving my goals and dreams has accelerated exponentially. And, my lifestyle has had to shift to accommodate the changes.
Perhaps you are in a change yourself and are having to shift your lifestyle. The attached article, "7 steps to Staying In Balance When Your Lifestyle Shifts" may shed some light on how to bring awareness to adjusting life changes.
Speaking of lifestyle change, upcoming
