Centering In The Heart
Though it sounds good, centering in the heart is not always easy. It is not always about love and light.
There are sensations that accompany journeying into the heart. As one centers there, sometimes it is not a familiar welcome feeling. Sometimes, there is fear, terror or the awareness that one is enraged, enflamed and volatile at an injustice or transgression against the self or one held dear. Just go with it.
This is all part of the clearing that accompanies a willingness and the resistance to travel to the inner sanctum of the soul. It is not always a joyful journey. Sometimes it hurts to realize what dwells within the chambers of the heart.
Yet, go there we must, as a collective species and as an individual, if we are to truly change the course of our lives constructively and merge our humanity with our divinity. |

Greetings!
As we enter into the energies of the Summer Solstice ( June 20 - 22 ) it is a time to be reminded of our intentions for the year. We are at the midway point to the culmination of the end of the 2012 and a 26,000 year cycle, which according to some Mayan scholars, ends on Winter's Solstice, December 21, 2012. Do you know where your center is?
The photo of the natural heart shaped rock above was taken when I was on a solo hike this week contemplating particular issues taking up too much real estate in my brain. Gosh, how I find Gemini time ( May 21st to June 20) to be a challenging one. All that mental thinking, thinking, thinking. Ugh.
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate all forms of thought and communication, and the blessing of the Gemini twins, but honestly too much thinking and mental activity can be a nuisance and a drain. It has seemed to be particularly strong yet easy at the same time during this cycle for the " runaway brain" to take over! I know I am not alone here :)
My hike was on Doe Mt. in Sedona which is an ascent to a flat top with a 360 degree view. As I walked the periphery of the mesa and took in the beauty, I was mulling over questions. At one point, I sat and faced West, the direction of introspection and endings, and tried to meditate but my brain was still too busy.
I chose to release some energy here instead.
I intended clarity and prayed for guidance and kept walking. I found a cool shaded spot underneath a juniper tree with a view facing North, the direction of higher wisdom. I sat and played with taking pics on my cell phone. No clarity yet. I prayed some more and got up to leave and looked down at me feet and gasped.
There in front of me was this man-sized heart shaped rock you see in the photo above. Just beautiful. And, I got it. The message was to move into the heart space again. That this is what we are being asked to do - to keep the focus on the heart space. NO MATTER WHAT. With all my thinking, I had forgotten the orientation of the heart. Yet, there it was right in front of me, etched in stone. A welcome reminder.
Instantly, I saw the view and the " bigger picture" of my inquiry. I was able to go deeper. I love how the messages are shown so clearly when we ask and are ready to receive.
The center is clearly in the heart - and here at the midway point of the year - summer solstice. We have the opportunity to infuse our future and the rest of the year with the energies of the heart. This is what it means to be ushering in the fifth world of peace. It is beyond illusion, suffering and addictions. It is love manifested. Choosing to live and love from the heart means connecting to the pulse of all that is within you. Is there a better choice?

How To Celebrate The Summer Solstice
Ah! Summer Solstice, Midsummer's Night. The longest day of the year...
What?!?
That awareness is always challenging for me to wrap my head around. I feel we climb all year to get to here and then it's the longest day and shortest night for only one day? It's summer! Sun, laughter, vacations and fun!
But alas, it is a good reminder because if we know the days start getting shorter from here, we best go take advantage of the days and go play.
Here are some tips for starting the summertime right by celebrating the summer solstice ( especially in 2012) with style: - Rest: Yes, rest. It is a way to stay attuned to the musings of the Universe in the midst of change. It is an active time, so be ok with your rest times too. Give yourself permission.
- Dream: To activate the energies of the summer solstice, day dream of possibilities. What do you want your version of the world to be? Write it down. Create it. Draw it in sand.
- Intend: The earth is at her highest point of giving during this time. Think carefully what to wish for especially for the rest of the energies for you, the earth and 2012.
- Clear: Your mind, your body, your energy. Purify your space in some way. Leave room for the fullness of this time to enter you. Be a clear vessel for the divine human to come through.
- Play: Though work is tempting it is easy to burn out in summer. Summer Solstice starts on a Thursday ( June 21 ) take the day off and celebrate your powerful intentional playful self.
- Go Out: This is a very good way to ground your intentions into the ground! Nurture your nature by being outside. It is the best healer.
- Love And Do What Your HEART Desires!
That's it! That is my recipe for celebrating the summer solstice in 2012. As you follow this recipe you will be launching an energy into the solstice that is so reminiscent of what is meant to come in the our next evolutionary phase and by the end of 2012.
Enjoy!
