| Entering The Mystical Realm |
Greetings!
It is a beautiful harvest time, with the pumpkins and squash in the markets and the majestic colors of the leaves coming off the trees. Here in Sedona, we actually get a full fall season. In Oak Creek Canyon, our river water oasis, the arrays of red, orange and yellow leaves coming off the Oaks, hitting the backdrop of the sunset colors on the rocks in the Canyon is a majestic site to behold.
I am also finding myself shedding some "colors " as I have been busy releasing no longer needed items through my fall garage sale and taxes from 2009, I did not complete while my Mom was passing away. It feels good to complete the past. As the past can come up and bite you in the personal assets.
Speaking of which, this time of year can be a treat with the beauty of fall, but also tricky with the spooks about.
As we come into the month of Scorpio, the season for death and rebirth, we also celebrate All Hallows Eve, Halloween, Samain. Also, the Dias De Las Muertes - or Day Of The Dead.
There is a reason that ghosts are decorative items during this season. This is a time to honor the ancestors. It is like a happy birthday celebration, re-acknowledgement for those loved ones that have passed. It is a time to honor the dead. It is a time to enter the mystical realms and make peace with the shadow side. This is where it gets a bit tricky. Whatever fears you have about the "non-physicals" or even hidden parts of your nature, might find themselves surfacing consciously or subconsciously at this time in your dreams or mediations.

Finding The Dark In The Light
 I once heard a name of a book called " The Dark Side of the Light Chasers " by Debbie Ford. What a brilliant name I thought. I could so relate. Having been a Light Chaser myself acutely aware of my dark side. The whole point of the book can be summed up in Deepak Chopra's statement, "non-judgement creates silence of the mind." Ford aptly puts it this way, " by owning and embracing what we most fear and hate, we're able to bring ourselves back in balance."
So what's your shadow side? Or more so, what is lurking in your closet? What do you need to make peace with? What is standing in your way of becoming all that you are meant to be. Read on...

 | | Honor Your Ancestors |
CREATING A CONNECTION AND CELEBRATION CEREMONY TO HONOR THOSE THAT HAVE PASSEDHallows, Hallowmass, Samhain, All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, Day Of The Dead mark the ending and the beginning of the Death/Rebirth cycle.
This is the time to descend into death to be reborn. The veils between death and living are thinnest on the Hallows Eve night, with possibility for connection to those that have passed over. It's a good night for divination, contacting spirit guides and contacting dead foremothers and fathers, pets or loved ones.
In the nature religions, remembrance of those that have been healers who have been tortured or killed for their knowledge is remembered. It is a time to reclaim ones own right to intuition and healing.
To honor who you are is honoring those that have come before you. Make time to celebrate their lives. Offer prayers and sweet treats for those that are now in Spirit world. It is a kind gesture to do so. Place pictures of loved ones that have passed on, around your home mixed with other Halloween decorations. Sprinkle treats of candy corn and colored sugar along with cookies intended to offer sweetness to those in the non-physical realms.
If you get a chance to meditate or gather with others at this time, make a bowl of salt water and name a fear you would like to release and place it with intent into the bowl. If others are there with you, pass it around until all fears are banished.
Next, take a bowl of seeds, nuts and acorns. Pick a seed or a few and name some hopes that you have for this rebirth time.
Hold the seeds to your heart and go to a place of joy in your past, and in your present and in your future. Invite a loved one or your spirit guide to bring you a message or a gift for you. Let it in. Listen to your intuition. Be grateful.
When you are ready, come back into this realm and place the seeds where you are called too.
Now go enjoy yourself !
