Birding Paradise: Watsonville Festival

Birding Paradise: Watsonville festival promotes region's avian wealth
September 23-25
Even if you missed this festival, you can come see Santa Cruz's flocks of birds!
| Bob Culbertson, a member of the steering committee for the Monterey Bay... (Bill Lovejoy/Sentinel) |
Santa Cruz has a lot of birds that visit there
The Watsonville-based festival, which started Thursday and runs through Sunday, has attracted birders from as far away as England hoping to catch glimpses of the Central Coast's wealth of resident and migrating birds. Field trips range from California condor watching at Pinnacles National Monument south of Hollister to walks along Watsonville's slough system and at Sunset and Natural Bridges state beaches. Even if you missed this festival, you can come see Santa Cruz's large variety of birds! >> read more about birding paradise: Watsonville festival promotes region's avian wealth
