Fred's Forecast!Weather and Pasture Management 
The drought and hay is what's everyone's mind these days...when will it end? Morales Feed & Supply has a supply of hay, we encourage everyone to come by the stores for their purchases. In our search for good, quality hay our travels have taken us to Nebraska, Kansas and the southern tip of Texas. South Texas has been blessed with rain and it was uplifting to see the green grass. The storms we had last week were a blessing! More rain will come! Please continue to pray for rain. If you have water for irrigation, now is the time to put out oat and rye grass seed. A little bit of rain will reap huge rewards, you couldn't ask for a better return on your investment. Visit either of our stores and pick up your seed now. We continue to recommend forage stretcher products to supplement your hay. Both Purina and Acco have a selection of products available on the market right now. Read more about hay replacement options on our website. Hunting season is around the corner. If you're looking for wildlife feed consider feeding alfalfa or deer pellets. As we enter the Fall feeding period for deer, consider Purina Rut & Conditioning 16, an alternative to a 20% diet for deer. Purina Rut & Conditioning 16 is a 3% fat diet versus a 2% which will help with weight gain on the bucks leading into and during the Rut Period. In addition, it will help the bucks recover from the rut quicker and get their bodies back into shape to help focus on antler development in the spring.
Take the time to consider your soil fertility. You can increase your soil fertility with a quality fertilizer. During dry times and drought it is better to use organic fertilizers, such as Micro Start 60. Talk to us about options. If you have questions please send us an email or give us a call. We have an exciting full-filled day planned with trail rides and entertainment as we support breast cancer awareness in the San Antonio and South Texas communities. Join us for this Bi-Lingual Speaking Horse Workshop featuring Jerry Diaz!
Our Pink Fiesta has a terrific line up of events for a fun filled day.
- 2pm: FREE Trail Ride will begin from the Red Rooster Ranch at 2pm. Ride along with Charro Jerry Diaz to Morales Feed & Supply in Lytle, TX!
- 3pm: Silent Auction begins! Many of our store vendors have donated wonderful items for the silent auction. All proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen in our county to support Breast Cancer.
- 4pm: Jerry Diaz Horse Workshop and show!
