Deadline to register for Jordu Schell workshops approaching

Jordu Schell, master of creature creation, is returning to Spirit Gallery this summer to teach workshops, a Creature Building Workshop and a Sculpee Techniques Workshop. And we don't want to nag, BUT, we have to have reservations and payment by mid-April. For more information on either class and to sign up, contact Blaze via email at brankauti@gmail.com.

Jordu Schell's Creature Building Workshop will run July 11-15, teaching students the basics of creature design, mask making and casting. Students will build their own half-mask, start a maquette of their creature and observe a full week's demonstration of Jordu building a full mask from start to finish. Class participation is limited to 30 students to make sure every individual gets a great seat and one-on-one tutoring from this master creature builder. Cost is $450 plus a $100 materials fee.

July 18-22, Jordu will be teaching his Sculpee Techniques Workshop.  During this one week class, students will build a 1/6th scale maquette of their own creature design to completion, with full color and accessories. Jordu will be working among the students the entire week, sharing his tips and solutions for many common challenges and teaching color blending techniques that make your creature come to life. Cost is $400 with students providing their own materials.

Blaze is doing a Totem Animal Retreat!

Join Blaze for a 3-day painting retreat with  the animals of Earthfire Institute
This three-day retreat, June 24, 25, 26 2011, gives aspiring and established artists alike an opportunity to experience totem animals in the personal way that only Earthfire can provide. Painter and wildlife tattoo artist Blaze Schwaller (our Blaze) will lead students through a weekend of drawing and painting, using the inspiration they gain from interacting with the animals to create personal artwork that honors the connection between human and animal - spirit. For more information on Earthfire Institute, visit www.earthfireinstitute.org. For pricing and more information, email linda@earthfireinstitute.org.
