Betty Kuli'iana Lau and LuAnn Oiiwaniyoh Jamieson

Greetings!

We have just gotten word and are very excited that LuAnn Oiiwaniyoh Jamieson, Hawk Clan Faithkeeper thru the Tonawanda Seneca Nation Longhouse is joining Betty Kuli'iana Lau as her kako'o (assistant) in the Hawaiian lomilomi massage program that we're holding in Chicago next week!

Betty and I met LuAnn when she came and took part in Henry Auwae's la'au lapa'au (Hawaiian medicinal herbs and healing) classes on the Big Island of Hawaii in the late 90's.  Papa Auwae later visited the Tonawanda/Seneca Nation sharing his Native Hawaiian healing methods with them.  LuAnn trained in lomilomi while in Hawaii to help her people.

Lomilomi was a healing practice used by traditional Hawaiian healersThe ali'i (royalty) used it as a luxury form of self-care and aid in digestion.  It was also used as a restorative technique within families.  Learn more about Betty Lau.

Keiki Lomilomi (Child Massage)  July 3rd     10 - 11:30 am
In Hawaiian culture, babies are gently massaged from birth for facial features and joint strengthening.

Children can also get lactic acid build up in their tiny muscles from running around, usually referred to as growing pains. Betty will teach parents gentle lomi strokes to restore balance for your baby or young child.  Bring baby lotion or oil and blanket for baby/child to lie on.  $25 for both parent and child.

Do you have sore muscles due to chronic or acute tension from stress - either mental or physical?  Lomilomi helps to break up the knots in your muscles, filters it through your lymph system and then purifies it through your pu'uwai (heart).  After a lomilomi one feels much lighter in body and spirit!  $95 per hour.  Call 708-445-1651 or email for an appointment.

All events held at 38 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL.
We look forward to seeing you at our special classes and workshop!
