Online financial tools
This month I thought I would point out a few free websites that provide quality financial information. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has created two financial websites with the purpose of educating the general populace. One is feedthepig.org (i.e. feed your piggy bank and save money). It provides a wealth of information on how to save money, reduce expenses, etc. The other AICPA website is www.360financialliteracy.org. The goal of this website is to educate and provide information to help individuals make sound financial decisions. The site contains a number of financial calculators, educational videos, and answers to frequently asked questions. Lastly, I'll mention www.mint.com. This website was created by Intuit, the makers of Quicken and QuickBooks. It allows users to enter bank account, credit card and loan information, and the site will automatically pull all transactions and categorize them. It lets you set budgets and savings goals and monitors your progress in achieving them. It even includes iPhone and Android apps.

Marketing Tip from Rebecca Best
The Juggling Act

Anyone who reads my Facebook statuses knows that I am a busy woman. Some say my lifestyle exhausts them just to read about it. While it exhausts me at times, it's a good exhaustion. It's an accomplished exhaustion. So how do I keep the juggling act going? Here are some tips for the busy professional:
- I use lists -- one for work and one for my personal life. If I don't finish something, it doesn't get crossed off and goes to the next list until I do it. It might be on the list for a month; but eventually I get to it. I try to keep it simple by knowing the top key people who I should stay in touch with on a regular basis. This helps me focus in the areas that are most important.
- I specialize in what I do. While I would love to have some amazing graphic skills, I don't. And I don't have time to learn them. But I do have the mind for strategy and ideas; so I focus on my strengths. I also know (sometimes) when to ask for help and I have learned to say no by politely declining when I have to. I cannot be everywhere all of the time and do enjoy just being at home.
- I have a support group. I know women with similar lives who I can call and lean on when I feel the pressure beginning to crack my composure. And sometimes, I crack. That's when I retreat and regroup; because as much as I love my busy life, I also love myself.
So enjoy your busy-ness!! Just remember to stay organized, focused and take care of the juggler!
