Sign Up By January 18th for Free Online Test Preparation Courses Through Kaplan for SAT, ACT, & Graduate Tests |
What are test preparation courses? Test preparation courses are designed to teach students everything they will need to know in order to achieve their highest possible score on college entrance exams.
How much do these courses cost? The cost of such courses can run anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to over one thousand dollars. For Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma students who are members of the Scholarship Advisement Program, however, these courses can be absolutely free!
Deadline to sign up for free Spring 2011 courses?
January 18, 2011 How and where to Sign-Up
First, you must be an enrolled member of SAP. Sign-up online at www.choctawnation-sap.com by clicking Join SAP. Next, high school students should login to your Scholarship Advisement Program account and click "Submit Kaplan Sign-Up." Graduate students must contact sgardner@choctawnation.com by January 18th for an application.

Yale University's Pre-MBA Leadership Program - Sign Up by March 31 |
What is the Yale Pre-MBA Leadership Program? The Yale Pre-MBA Leadership program is an awesome opportunity for current undergraduate students to spend two summe r weeks studying at one of the world's premier universities. This summer, the program will take place June 12-25 at the Yale University campus in New Haven, Connecticut. Do I qualify for the program? Yale University is seeking 40 current college sophomores and juniors from diverse cultural backgrounds and areas of study.What it is: A five-day crash course that gives Native American high-school sophomores and juniors everything they need to know in order to get into college and have success as they pursue an undergraduate degree.
Cost of the program? Tuition, program materials, housing, and most meals are provided as part of the program. Application deadline? March 31, 2011
The Pre-MBA Leadership Program was established by the Yale School of Management as a means to educate leaders for business and society, with the ultimate goal of transforming gifted students into potent agents of change. This intensive, two-week summer program aims to instill the fundamentals of business education, and to emphasize leadership among students of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Cassandra Morley and Derek Littlejohn are Named to AIGC's All Native American High School Academic Team

Two Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) students, Cassandra (Cassie) Morley of St. Paul, MN and Derek Littlejohn of Willamina, OR, have been named to the American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC) All Native American High School Academic Team for the 2010-11 Academic Year. Both Morley and Littlejohn are also members of the CNO's Scholarship Advisement Program (SAP).
Each year AIGC's All Native American High School Academic Team honors ten American Indian and Alaska Native high school students. The key element, given most weight by the judges, is a student's outstanding original academic, artistic or leadership endeavor. Judging is also influenced by a student's ability to describe that outstanding endeavor in his or her own words. Teachers or community members must nominate applicants.
Derek Littlejohn graduated from Willamina High School in Willamina, Oregon where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He received many athletic awards

in football and baseball. He has performed community service with D'Gadabouts Inc. where he chaperoned adults with special needs on weekends, week-long outings or vacations. He has spent many hours volunteering for Little Guy Football, Youth Basketball and Little League Baseball as an umpire and referee. Derek will be attending Linfield College in Oregon where he will pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and engineering. Derek's parents are Michael and Michelle Littlejohn.
Cassie Morley graduated from Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. She has been on the honor roll for four years and is a Choctaw Nation Honors Scholar. Some of her accomplishments include: taking Advance Placement courses for four years,

being a National Merit Commended Scholar and recently received The President's Volunteer Service Award for completing over 100 hours of volunteer work. Cassandra's community service hours have been with the Bush Children's Center, Vis Corps Service Club, Mano a Mano, Christmas Stocking Project, and the Choctaw Nation Youth Outreach Coat Drive. Cassie and her twin sister, Christie, have both won scholarships to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Cassie intends to pursue a degree in Native American Studies and or International Relations.
