Overweight = Second highest risk for cancer | |
|
A recent report by Cancer Research UK concluded that excess weight is the second most important risk factor for cancer (smoking being first). Being overweight is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer, especially for women after menopause.
Merck's Healthy Living Website is a useful tool for managing health, including tracking tools for weight, meals, activities and health conditions. It also includes a Healthcare Professionals section. Check it out - perhaps you or some of your patients might be interested in using this resource.

RTL Sponsors Cancer Fundraising Events | |

RTL was proud to sponsor Team RTL in the Dash for Dads 5K in Sparks, NV on Father's Day, June 17. Our Nevada Site Director, Danika, and family and friends participated in this run to help raise awareness and funds for local families affected by prostate cancer.
RTL's Nevada office again showed their fundraising (and eating!) skills by recruiting several participants for local restaurant Burger ME's Burgers for Boobies event. Burger ME donated food and entertainment, and all proceeds benefited the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Upcoming Twin Cities events with RTL sponsorship include the Twin Cities Race for the Cure and the Hartford RE/MAX Breast Cancer Ride.
