Please be advised that today, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its Final Rule governing Stage 2 of the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs.  This rule provides updates to Stage 1 and will impact providers as early as 2014.  We are in the process of reviewing the Final Rule and will provide our analysis shortly. 

Please note that providers that attested to meeting the meaningful use criteria in 2011 received some relief under the Final Rule.  Those providers that attested in 2011 must now meet Stage 2 criteria by 2014 as opposed to 2013.
