And nothing seems to be working the way it used to? You are not alone! Shaerie Richards

"No need to slay your inner dragon; Just teach it to dance."
Shaerie will discuss her book which teaches you how to reclaim your personal power through the practice of unconditional love. Often, life's emotional challenges have to do with the unconscious needs and fears, which belong to the realm that author Shaeri Richards calls "the dragon." Shaeri's new book Dancing with your Dragon: The Art of Loving your Unlovable Self is about opening the darkest regions of our inner being to the healing power of Divine unconditional love. This magical, transformative power is always accessible deep inside no matter what might be happening in the world around us. This book is designed to help people begin to access the disowned, denied and repressed energy of "the dragon" and to transform it into useable, productive life force or power. Dancing with your Dragon offers a spiritual practice designed to help us reclaim and reintegrate this denied power so that we can actually use it in our daily lives.

 Gem Stone

Diamond

Diamonds represent faithfulness, love, purity, innocence, and relationships filled with love. It removes certain types of deviations in the aura, which can be best imagined as sort of voids, and diamond fills them with the pure energy of love. It inspires creativity, ingenuity, inventivity, faith, endurance, and helps in manifesting abundance in all areas of life. Diamond is a symbol of the richness of the Self. As the hardest mineral of all, it is especially esteemed owing to its beauty, purity, and ability to reflect light in a special manner. Diamond brings purity, and clear positive resolution of all problems that bother us, especially after we have become willing to admit our wrong perceptions and approaches, or our unreal expectations. Diamonds work together with other crystals in accentuating their vibratory, healing qualities.

THE HOLY THORN TREE!
by Peter Tongue

There are many myths and legends that surround the life and death of Jesus and this month I want to present a version which I believe is very relevant to us today. I can't prove this to be true, but I strongly believe that the mythological threads of this story are guiding us on our sacred pilgrimmage through our landscape zodiac. Please be discerning as you follow this story and see if it resonates with you. Throughout history there have been sacred trees, symbolizing the connection between heaven and earth. The roots reaching down into Mother Earth while the branches and leaves reach up to Father Sky. The tree being the bridge between heaven and earth, just as members of the human family can also be this bridge. This story is about the Holy Thorn Tree that resides on Wearyall Hill in Glastonbury, England.

This tree began its life as a Lebanese Hawthorne tree and got stripped down to become the staff of Joseph of Arimethea. Many believe that the "Crown of Thorns" came from this tree. Joseph was the hidden apostle of Jesus. He was a man of status and wealth, who owned tin mines in Cornwall, England. He was very familiar with the trade routes and had ships that delivered tin to the Romans. He was well known by Pontius Pilate and it was Joseph who obtained the tomb for Jesus after the crucifixion. At this time other members of the Holy Family, as well as the Apostles, were at risk for their lives. Following the crucifixion, Joseph arranged for the Holy Family, some of the Apostles, and members of the Essene community to escape by boat to the south of France and their new home at the base of Mount Bugarach. A number of communities were established in France, the south-west of England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the Islands around the U.K. The key members of the Holy Family kept moving around these communities to keep them safe from the Roman Soldiers who were seeking them out. The Celts, Druids and Essenes pooled their considerable resources of spiritual knowledge during this time.

Joseph himself established the first Christian Church in Glastonbury in the early days following the crucifixion. Jesus had visited Glastonbury as a young man with his Uncle Joseph, clearly showing that the establishment of the Church to our Lady(Mother Mary) in England was always part of the Divine Plan. Jesus' journey to England is immortalized in William Blake's famous hymn,

"And Did Those Feet in Ancient Times Walk Upon England's Mountains Green!"

When Joseph arrived in Glastonbury with members of the Holy Family, they had been on a long and arduous journey across the ocean and so after stepping on the  land, he thrust his staff into the gound and exclaimed, "We are all Weary!" This knoll henceforth became known as Wearyall Hill, one of the mounds sticking up out of the flooded plains. By this action, Joseph was claiming and anchoring this land for Christ completing the shift in energy from the middle east to western europe.

That staff transformed into a living tree which flowered
twice a year at Christmas and Easter. Even today, sprigs of the white blossom are presented to the Queen of England to decorate her Christmas table. This transformation indicated that Joseph was an alchemist, capable of animating inanimate objects- a staff into a tree!

Joseph was given 12 hydes of land which became sacred and no taxes were ever collected from this holy landscape. Joseph also brought artifacts of the Grail with him from Jerusalem. In addition to his staff, Joseph had collected drops of Christ's blood in the Grail cup, while he was on the cross, and he also carried the "Spear of Destiny" that pierced Christ's side absorbing his body fluids. These relics vibrate with the energy of Christ Consciousness as they carry the DNA of the Ascended Christ, providing others with the opportunity to raise their vibrational frequency to the state of Christ Consciousness by resonating with these Holy relics. It was this energy that inspired the Court of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table to engage in their Grail Quests. Avalon, the Isle of Apples, was the site for this Grail Quest, the same landscape where Joseph had established the first Christain church, five hundred years earlier and where the sacred tree stands to this day!

In the 1920's, Katharine Maltwood, a highly gifted sculptress and spiritual Master, discerned through a document called "The High History of the Holy Grail", that there existed a landscape zodiac within the land around Glastonbury Tor. All twelve astrological symbols somehow etched in the land through ancient tracks, streams, hills and valleys. She determined not only that they existed, but also how you could work with these structures to transform yourself and become enlightened! To go on your own Grail Quest!

Katharine was a very gifted and highly evolved being who did nothing by chance and having travelled to all parts of the globe, collecting major spiritual artwork and masterpieces, made the decision to move to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 1938. Clearly she had a mission, a purpose for doing this.

On leaving England, she brought with her a graft of the Holy Thorn Tree from Glastonbury and planted it at her new home, "The Thatch" which is now the Fireside Grill, Royal Oak. After the Maltwoods passed from this life, the contents of her home, which was also her personal museum, were moved to the University Centre at the University of Victoria creating the Maltwood Gallery. The Holy Thorn Tree was also moved and planted just outside the Gallery.
Katharine also brought with her two of her own Grail artifacts. A beautiful alabaster sculpture she had created called "Samadhi" or "The Holy Grail" and her own representation of the Landscape Zodiac in the form of a wooden elevated disc showing the astrological effigies and where they fit on the landscape around Glastonbury

As we have seen this story unfold and become part of it ourselves, extraordinary things have happened. It all began when Mary Dowds found the tree at the university and began to unravel the mystery of the landscape zodiac which resides in the landscape of our own Victoria. Remarkably within one month of her discovering the tree and the signifance of it, the original tree in Glastonbury was cut down-returned to being a staff-on December 8th. 2010. What was the significance of this? I have my own ideas, for which there is no proof, but a stong intuitive knowing-take it as you will!

I believe that Joseph of Arimethea, in bringing the staff from the Holy Land to England transferred the energy of Christ Consciousness from the middle east to western europe for the 2000 year period of the "Age of Pisces". Wearyall Hill in Glastonbury is one of the fish in the constellation of Pisces in the landscape there. We are currently shifting from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius and the Holy Thorn Tree in our Victoria landscape zodiac is in Aquarius. Does this suggest that the cutting down of the tree in Pisces in Glastonbury last year heralded in the new Age of Aquarius and shifted the focus from Europe to the Americas? The Pacific North West specifically? Did Katharine Maltwood set this up fifty years ago?

Two days after writing the draft of this article, I was presented with the following information. Synchronicity is marvellous!

This quote from the Museum archives might just demonstrate this,

"Katharine Maltwood felt her art and the evidence she had amassed on the Glastonbury Zodiac would be lost and unappreciated if left in Britain. By bringing it to British Columbia it had a chance to be properly preserved for future generations. Just as the ancient priests had moved west to find a safe home for their secret knowledge so she hoped to bring the wisdom embodied in the Grail to a new "Earthly Paradise in the Western Seas".

We began working consciously with The Holy Thorn Tree at the University during this last year and have experienced some magnificent shifts in energy. It seemed appropriate to hold a sacred ceremony with our Tree on the anniversary of the cutting down of the tree in Glasonbury and so we gathered at the Holy Thorn Tree at the University at 11.44am on Saturday December 10th, 2011, following the early morning full moon lunar eclipse. We had 33 participants, including the Tree, in a very powerful and healing ceremony. My sense is that the Tree carries the fully balanced energy of the "As Above, So Below", vertical connection between heaven and earth as well as the horizontal, "As Within, So without" balance of masculine and feminine energies. The authentic Cross of Light! I believe that spending time with the Tree in sacred ceremony will help remove the residual blocks, issues and dross necessary for us humans to reach higher states of consciousness and ultimately enlightenment. The veils are becoming increasingly thin and the opportunity for us to reach through and reconnect with our fifth-dimensional ascended self while remaining in full third dimensional reality seems to be more likely every day.

Stay tuned for future updates!

Sagittarius Workshop
Firing the Arrow into Your Heart's Desire!

We gathered together for our Sagittarius workshop at King George Terrace, overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca looking towards the Olympic Mountains of Washington State. The first thing that struck us was that the sky, with sunbeams highlighted towards bright shiny spotlights on the ocean were exactly mirroring the sky that we had seen at the conclusion of our 11:11:11 ceremony. It felt like we were making a seamless transition from ceremony to ceremony and we immediately dropped into these so sacred energies. As we had just moved into Advent, we discussed the concept of the three wise men and the well-known Christmas Carol that should begin, "We Three Kings of Orion Are!" as Orion and Sirius have now returned to our night sky.

Sagittarius encourages us to fire the arrow of our hearts desire high into the night sky, following the star of Bethlehem, to the Christ Child, symbolic of the annual opportunity for the re-birth of Christ consciousness.

Our three kings were King George, King Arthur and King Freezy. We were meeting on King George Terrace. George slayed the Dragon just like Michael, which means overcoming the lower human ego and opening ourselves up to our spiritual awakening. King Arthur, who is represented in the landscape effigy by the centaur- King Arthur on his white horse. Having fired his arrows of intention, Arthur has to dismount his horse to recover his fired arrows using his intuitive perception. Our pilgrims for the day were reminded that their vehicles were representations of the power of the horse(Horsepower!), And each time they got out of their car, it was the same as dismounting their horse. This is King Arthur's Grail quest.

Our third King was King Freezy, a local first Nations chief whose home overlooked the ocean below King George Terrace in the old days. This reminded us of our connection to the indigenous peoples of this land and our need to include the spiritual elders on our landscape pilgrimage.

We opened sacred space in the traditional Druid Way with the Sage Wand and Sword of Peace opening the four directions in peace, while anchoring the light of heaven into Mother Earth through a focused beam of light through the Sword.

One of the important concepts to grasp in the Sagittarius energy is as follows. When we fire our arrow into our transformed and ascended future-self from where we are today, living our lives, with all of the trials and tribulations, the space between these two extremes seems to big to cross. It is a chasm of such magnitude that the danger is that we will not believe that we are able to cross from one to the other. The key is to believe that you can and to bridge this void it is critical to do the following. When you are feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed in your mundane day to day lives, simply let those sensations go and shift into the feelings that you will have when you are in your ideal future ascended self. What will it feel like when you are following your true purpose and passion in this life. Feel this energy vividly, enthusiastically, as though it is already achieved. This is the key to your success!

This month Mary and Zia collaborated on another superb hand out and at our indoor venue Melanie and Zia led our sit down discussion, covering the astrological aspects of Sagittarius, the influences of the day and the insights we had gained. Ted brought along another magnificent creation, "The Flame of the Sacred Feminine", as well as his masterpiece "Genie". While listening to "When You Wish Upon a Star", we each had the opportunity to write our one word wish upon a five pointed star to be placed in the Genie along with our collective wish which was for "Peace on Earth!". Our wishes were the Genie's command! The stars were to be later offered to the fire in our sacred fire ceremony.

After our potluck lunch, we headed up the body of King Arthur in the centaur of Sagittarius to Mount Stevens Park, which is the pineal gland inside Arthur's helmet. We buried our Lemurian seed crystal, to activate the landscape and connect with all of the other sites already visited and activated. We moved up to the tip of the bow in Sagittarius, which is in Summit Park, a magical spot with a magnificent oak grove closely resembling our Avalon. It was from this spot that we fired our intentions beyond the horizon into our ascended future selves. Now we follow the threads of the arrow to fulfill our destiny in this lifetime.

As Sagittarius is a fire sign, it seemed really appropriate to conclude the day with a fire ceremony led by Zia. Our chosen location was Abkhazi Gardens, a garden built on love by Prince and Princess Abkhazi. This was their love child, their Christ child-the garden itself! This garden contains a cauldron- a perfectly reflecting pond with a stone Merlin's Chair alongside it. The surface of the water is so still and perfect that the reflection is crystal clear-a clearer image in fact than our apparently real world.

We set up our sacred fire close by. In a sacred fire ceremony, we take two sticks to represent our death arrow and our life arrow. We put into the death arrow, everything that we are complete with-all blockages, dysfunction, discontents, unhealed aspects of ourselves-the dross and debris. We blow all of this into the arrow and then watch it all burn away. Then we take the life arrow and blow into it all of our wishes and intentions for our lives from this moment forward, and place it in the flames, so that these vibrations can flow out into the ethers through the element of fire. It is a very powerful process and commitment that we make to ourselves. During our ceremony a magnificent orange/red glowing Sun was setting, while Jupiter and a beautiful crescent Moon were rising.

Another magnificent day in our landscape came to a conclusion!

We now move through the lesser gate of Sagittarius through the energy of the Solstice and climb the mountain into Capricorn for our workshop on January 8th, 2012.

SkyWatch
Monthly Constellation
Venus Dazzles After Sunset

Cassiopeia shines high in the northern sky after sunset on winter evenings. Next to the hour-glass of Orion now rising in the south-east, Cassiopeia's striking W-shape is one of the night sky's most striking and easily recognizeable star patterns. Orion the Hunter dominates the evening sky with its seven distinctive bright stars. The bright blue star marking Orion's left foot is Rigel and the ruby gem at his right shoulder is Betelgeuse. The three stars of Orion's belt point down to Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, and up to Aldebaran, the eye of Taurus the bull. To Orion's upper left lies the constellation of Gemini.

Five visible planets put on a nice display in January. Venus and Jupiter dominate the sky as darkness falls. Venus shines four times brighter than Jupiter. Mars grows markedly brighter this month as it climbs high in the south during the pre-dawn hours. Saturn joins the show in the south-east. Mercury also makes a fleeting appearance in the morning in the first week of the month.

Keep an eye out for the Quadrantid meteor show before dawn on January 4th coming out of the constellation of Bootes. If the weather cooperates you should catch a great show!

January Book Review
The Sacred Sphere by Paul Burley

There is a cosmic consciousness that, through use of symbols, allows us to comprehend and communicate our relationship with Earth, the Universe and life itself. This is a common thread binding the fabric of all mankind. Paul Burley's book, "The Sacred Sphere" describes the history of the circle as a sacred two dimensional representation of the sphere, symbolizing mankind's relationships with each other, the world and the cosmos. The content of this book gives us a tremendous insight into how our Universe, Planet and even individual atoms all fit together within one unique spherical  geometry.

Anyone interested in sacred geometry and spirituality should read this book!

Astrological Signs
Capricorn

Capricorn is the 10th sign of the zodiac and is one of the more universal signs followed by Aquarius and Pisces. It is a cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn. Generally speaking, Capricorn people are ambitious, slowly but surely making their way to the top of their chosen profession. They will come across many obstacles in their path, but they will typically overcome them through determination, discipline and perseverance. Capricorns tend to be somewhat aloof, but do have a dry, dour sense of humor which can be quite funny. Capricorns are typically well-informed with a good depth of knowledge, but do have difficulty admitting when they are wrong. They have a sense of fatalism and see trials, difficulties and suffering as a part of life. In fact they are most suspicious when things are going too well. They are accepting of their role in life and lack the flexibility needed to make necessary changes. Capricorn offers security through structural support which can lead to a hardening or crystallization of thoughts and ideas-a certain rigidity.
