The Birth of Venus

by Sandro Botticelli

venus

Venus, as the Goddess, confers the ability to appreciate beauty, balance and proportion.  She inspires us artistically to find ways of expressing the different aspects of her nature through art, music, poetry and all other forms of creative expression, and she helps us magnetise that beauty in the world.

Positive traits include the urge for harmonious relationship, a gentle and kindly manner, adept in love and the social arts. Things to work on include being lazy, indecisive, excessively romantic and dependent on others.

Lapis Luzuli

Lapis lazuli is a gemstone of the kind that might have come straight out of the Arabian Nights: a deep blue with golden inclusions of pyrites which shimmer like little stars. This opaque, deep blue gemstone has a grand past. It was among the first gemstones to be worn as jewelry and worked on. The blue stone was already popular thousands of years ago among the people of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Persia, Greece and Rome. It is said that the legendary city of Ur on the Euphrates plied a keen lapis lazuli trade as long ago as the fourth millennium B.C., the material coming to the land of the two great rivers from the famous deposits in Afghanistan. In other cultures, lapis lazuli was regarded as a holy stone. Particularly in the Middle East, it was thought to have magical powers. Countless signet rings, scarabs and figures were wrought from the blue stone which Alexander the Great brought to Europe. There, the colour was referred to as 'ultramarine', which means something like 'from beyond the sea'. Lapis represents Friendship and Truth, encouraging harmony in relationships and helps the wearer to be authentic and give of their opinion openly.

Landscape Zodiac Off and Running!
by Peter Tongue

We had a phenomenal response to the landscape zodiac project both locally in Victoria and globally as a result of information on my radio show and www.myheartcenteredjourney.com  Ambassadors of Light program. Our first gathering in the physical took place on Sunday, April 17th for an eight hour workshop beginning at 10 AM. Just before the event, I received the latest "Beacons of Light" channeling from Steve Rother and there were some really important pieces of information in that message, pertinent to the beginning of our journey. In it, the group referred to the fact that our individual signature frequency is changing and that of the planet also. People in our lives expect us to behave in certain ways according to cultural norms and our old patterns. As we change in frequency and vibration, we have to be allowed to be different by those around us and not confined by old expectations and beliefs. This is true for Mother Earth herself. As we have seen in recent weeks, significant shifts are taking place on a global scale and we have to provide the space for this to happen. To go with the new flow and not attempt to hold back ourselves or the planet. The full article can be accessed at http://www.lightworker.com/beacons/2011/2011_04-EarthWobble.php

The landscape zodiac project is a tool to assist us in moving through this vibrational frequency shift, comfortably with ease and grace. Our first day was spent with intention on the birthdate of Kathryn Maltwood, 133 years on. She was the inspiration and spiritual master behind the rediscovery of the landscape zodiac around the Glastonbury Tor in England and the energetic connection to our landscape zodiac in Victoria as she linked the two places together through the Holy Thorn Tree of Joseph of Arimathea.

The astrological sign of the day was Aries and the archetypical energies were discussed through the expertise of Melanie Lichtinger. Essentially Aries is about beginning new projects and endeavors with enthusiasm and gusto, not necessarily knowing all the details and where it is leading. Making a start, jumping off the edge and having a go, learning from the mistakes as they arise. Aries often takes us back to redo things we got wrong the first time around and doesn't always follow through to completion. The other Aries quality to be aware of is a tendency to smash aHEAD, without concern for any collateral damage to others, either physically or emotionally. Head to head confrontation is definitely to be avoided.

We then shifted gear out of the cerebral, under the guidance of Fiona Percy, into the unconscious through a series of rhythmic dances to bring out our hidden Aries energies buried deep within, then expressed these essences through painting and meditative connection to the beautiful gardens and grounds of our tranquil sanctuary.

In the afternoon, we spent time looking at the Victoria landscape zodiac, the different features and how synchronicity had led Mary Dowds to their discovery. A fascinating insight into the realms of spiritual geomancy, connecting the heavenly bodies with the Earth.
More time was spent focusing on the landscape feature of Aries, the Paschal Lamb, its form and positioning on the land with its head in LAMBrick Park, now a baseball field, which used to be a sheep farm, amongst other things. We also focused on some of the pioneers of the area who first founded this part of Victoria and some of the Aries energy they demonstrated.

The last two hours of the day were spent in one of the key spots within the landscape feature itself, Vantreight Park. This small Park was right in the rump of Aries, close to the ocean and named after one of the original pioneers of the area. A street called LEYns Road provided a clue as we realized there were two intersecting LEY lines running right through the center of an abandoned stone circle in the heart of the park. One large granite block provided us with the opportunity to dowse for electromagnetic frequency emissions as well as the alignments set up between the stones and trees within the circle and along the ley lines. We then joined together in sacred ceremony, guided by Lisa Cole, in this sacred spot and consciously connected with the Earth, water, birds and animals of the area.

This was our first day on a year-long pilgrimage through the zodiac and landscape features of Victoria and it was magnificent.

Many people have noted my extraordinary enthusiasm and commitment for this project without really understanding why I am so excited and so let me try and explain.

As my  own journey has unfolded over the years, it has become clearer and clearer to me that we are on the verge of a major break through in human consciousness - a grand awakening! Part of this awakening is remembering who we are as individuals and how we used to be completely connected to our natural environment- to the Earth and the Stars. In previous cycles, we have existed in Golden Eras of Peace and this is exactly how we maintained the energy of peace, love and protection. The ancient mythologies of heaven and earth are real examples of these past cycles, how civilizations flourished and how they fell apart.

The landscape zodiac provides us with a pathway back to the connection between heaven and earth, the stars and the land. It is a blueprint awaiting our conscious co-creation. Following the mythological stories of the constellations and the stars, walking our personal and collective landscape, provides us with the opportunity to transcend the twelve lower human archetypes, step off the wheel of karma, into the center and freedom - free to be who we really are, individually and collectively, in co-creating a beautiful, loving, peace on Earth for the greater good of all. What could be better? That's why I am so enthusiastic!

For those people able to attend in person our next workshop will be in the landscape feature of Taurus on Sunday, May 15, location to be arranged, ending up at the Bulls Eye in BOW Pond at 4 PM. For those unable to attend who wish to follow the journey, I will be discussing all of this on our next Ambassador of Light Class through www.myheartcenteredjourney.com at 5:30 PM West Coast time on Thursday, May 12, 2011.

The Hathors have provided information to us through the work of Tom Kenyon and they represent the female cow fertility goddesses of Egypt and a wonderful timely channeling has just come to my attention as we move into the energy of Taurus. I strongly recommend the information which can be accessed through www.tomkenyon.com/transition-states-of-consciousness

Monthly Constellation
Herdsman and Maiden

herdsman maiden

The two brightest stars of the traditional spring constellations are Arcturus and Spica. Both are now superbly placed in the evening sky, and this year have a companion planet- Saturn. Arcturus is almost overhead toward the south-east, at the base of the kite shaped Bootes, while Spica and Saturn are lower in the south well to Arcturus's lower right. The two stars are the signposts for the constellations Bootes and Virgo, the Herdsman and Maiden respectively. Spica represents an ear of wheat in Virgo's hand. There is a group of planets; Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter bunched together in mid-May very low above the eastern horizon as dawn grows brighter. Spot bright Venus first and then look for the other planets clustered around.

May Book Review
Lost Star of Myth and Time  by Walter Cruttenden lost star myth and time
"Lost Star of Myth and Time" provides an alternative view of history based on the solar systems motion through space. Walter Cruttenden believes that the myth and folklore depicting a repeating cycle of Golden ages and Dark Ages may have a basis in fact, due to the alternating stellar forces that effect Earth as our solar system moves in a 24,000 year binary (dual star) orbit. The book includes his interpretation of the precession of the equinox as well as the possibility that we are living in a binary star system with cyclical rise and fall of civilization and consciousness as a result. This is a really important book in helping us to understand where we are now and what has gone before us in our vast planetary history.  For more information visit: www.loststarbook.com

Astrological Signs
Taurus

Taurus

Taurus is a fixed earth sign with ruling planet Venus and is very much involved with the material world. Practical, reliable and patient, Taurus requires security, particularly in the home which is usually attractive and somewhat luxurious, including good food, which is important to this sign. Taurus has a possessive side and is slow to arousal, but can become ferocious and difficult to deal with(the bull in the china shop!) if confronted. The esoteric image of this sign is riding the bull which means "Mastering the Desires of the Earthly Plane."

Monthly Animal Totem
Buffalo

Buffalo-Prayer and Abundance

White buffalo is considered to be the most sacred animal and its appearance means that prayers are being heard, that the sacred pipe is being honoured. The medicine of Buffalo is prayer, gratitude and praise for that which has been received. It is also knowing that abundance is present when all relations are honoured as sacred. This is a time of reconnection to the meaning of life and the value of peace. This time will bring serenity amidst chaos if you pray in earnest for enlightenment, give praise for the gifts you already have and humbly acknowledge the role of Great Spirit in your life.
