Gracias! Lots of Notes of Thanks that We Should Share
Thanks to Tom Hull and Cheryl Lederle for hosting coffee time Sunday.

Thanks to Cheryl and to Clark Chesser for feeding all those who came out on Christmas Eve to feed street people with A-SPAN.

Big thanks also to Dylan, Martin, Bud and Monica for moving pews.

Happy New Year!!!

Progressive ... Inclusive ... Diverse
December.2010
Greetings!

cross
A very happy new year to you and yours! Celebrate the gift of this time.

You do not want to miss worship this Sunday. We will be graced by the remarkable musical talents of clarinetist Peter Mika. He and Amy will combine on Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Sinfonia, as well as Mozart's Adagio and Mendelssohn's If With All Your Hearts.

In addition, we'll gather around several foundational texts (Genesis 1 and 2, and Micah 6:6-18). I encourage you to read those passages, and to join in the conversation that John Green and I will have in place of a sermon.

It promises to be a great beginning to the new year, so if you've gotten out of the practice of worship this is a great time to step back it.
David

PS: Something new for New Year's -- we've herringboned most of the pews in the sanctuary. This furniture rearranging comes in response to suggestions from the small groups this fall, and aims to make our conversational style of worship work better. Come and see!

Pledge Drive Update -- Please Note

We have received 23 thus far for the 2011 CPC budget, and the drive stands at $54,836. Our goal is $85,000.

We have some expansive plans for 2011, particularly concerning music and mission. These plans depend upon your generosity, and they depend upon pledges that we can count on for making an accurate budget.

Thanks so much to all those who have pledged already. It is tremendously helpful to the budget process. If you haven't offered your pledge yet, please consider doing so this weekend.

Pledge cards are available at church or send me a note and I'll e-mail it to you. You can also simply send an e-mail to Reg Mitchell with your pledge amount. Also let Reg know if you plan to honor the pledge on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis or some other schedule that fits your own circumstance.

Give until giving makes a difference in your life.

Saving graces

"The coming of God is truly not only glad tidings, but first of all frightening news for everyone who has a conscience."
